years ago I told you how streaming was set up so that the very last person that would get paid are the creators
thats why around 5to8 yrs ago the largest performers (Drake Taylor etc etc) cut a side deal to get paid -

not to get a bigger share from labels publishers and streaming platforms -

but instead at the expense of all the other performers

this is part of what Budden was talking about when he said Drake had a moment when there was leverage to change how artists were getting paid
