Remy Ma's "SHETHER" Is Being Removed From The Internet ... But Not Because Of Nas

Thursday saw yet another dramatic 24 hours in the ongoing beef between Remy Ma and Nicki Minaj.

After more than a week of silence, Nicki finally responded to Remy’s diss tracks by sparing a few bars on her new song “No Frauds” for Remy.

But Nicki awakening from her slumber isn’t the only thing that Remy has to worry about. After receiving a lot of praise for her “SHETHER” track, her first attack on Nicki, Remy is now facing the song being removed from the internet and radio.

“SHETHER” borrowed the beat from Nas’ classic diss track “Ether,” recorded for Stillmatic during his beef with Jay Z. TMZ has reported that Nas is fine with Remy’s use of the beat but Universal, the label that owns the song, hasn’t been as forgiving.

The track has been removed from Soundcloud, and while it’s still available on iTunes, TMZ has reported that we can expect that to change sometime soon. The track has also been removed from YouTube, though bootleggers have acted quickly to re-upload it right away. And on top of all that, the track can’t be played on radio, nor can Remy perform it live.

All we know is that if Remy is planning a response to “No Frauds,” she’s probably going to use her own beat next time.

In an ideal world, for me, Nas would have full control of the track and he would oversee rappers who would wanna use the beat in a beef/rap battle form. If the rapper aint spittin napalm then they wouldn't be granted permission to use the track. Gotta respect the greatness of the track.

Not saying Remy aint do her thang, cuz she did, but it could've been alot cleaner, more thorough. And Foxy same with her and takeover. Gotta respect these tracks.
