This was a pretty big hit back then and for her... today it sounds like a demo.. Except for her singing...everything on this joint is synths and drum machine. :giggle:

NO REAL INSTRUMENTS WERE USED IN THE MAKING OF THIS SONG.

you could produce this song today on someones iphone and not use all the components:lol:

this was the SHIT in 89 but its paper thin today.

Go to sleep… beat is still hot and it’s catchy.. shit is way hotter than mad shit that is out.. you talking about paper thin have you heard the garbage that is out now

ice spice wish she could have something sound as good as this
I never said the beat was wack just that the song consists of just a drum machine and a synth. If Sybil could play keyboards she could play the whole song by herself in a basement studio and still have the same quality.

It’s a remake remix of this 1963 Dionne Warwick song

Yeah man, such Lush arrangement and instrumentation on the original Dionne Warwick version....
The Sybil version is a classic tho..a lot of those simpler 90's house tracks were dope because of the simplicity of the beat...just needed a solid bass line, especially if the vocals were on point. "I surrender", "finally", "follow me" etc.

Have you listened to some of the "paper thin" songs that people are doing tours with today?
Where are "real instruments" being used in popular music? Come on.

Whoever produced the remake should have shopped it to Dionne Warwick...would have been a third wind for her career going into the 90s... probably would have been the last big hit for her.

Sometimes you let the youth do what they do and just collect the checks from using your songs, production, etc… sometimes they can capture an audience that you couldn’t get.. think of Whitney houston remaking dolly parton track
