Actually not true
I boxed from 13-17 yrs old the difference is alot of boxers can't tussle
Street fights are much different;
Going against a mfers like me imma bite ya nose, poke u in ya eye, grab ya dreads, even grab ya nuts while fighting.
Think about sticky fingerz if he was able slam that white boy on MTV he wouldn't have lost that celebrity match
A REAL professional trained fighter is not letting get that close to him to do that
Mayweather is a real professional trained fighter don't let that shit fool u I'd whipped his ass it's a reason ppl are put in weight classes. If u let somebody 140 lbs whip ya ass without being physical its because u was shook from the beginning
I use to box as well from 17-22 and off and on after that.
You are both right to an extent.
There is a difference between fighting and boxing.
Boxing is art form about scoring points and clean shots for the judges.
Fighting is just your natural athletic abilities to defend or resist force in a given confrontation.
The best boxers know how to combine both to their advantage in and out the ring.
Some dudes never learn to fight or got beat up and decided to learn boxing to defend themselves which is a great start.
Difference is some know how to box but don't know how to fight.
Sounds strange? Let me see if I can clarify.
Fighting and boxing is the difference between learning how to play an instrument technically and knowing how to freestyle
IMO the guys who have been in fights before boxing have an edge, just my opinion.
So to what PDQ is saying you can be a great boxer but you can still get your ass-whooped out the ring by a fighter.
Certain shit in boxing isn't gonna work the same in street fights.
For one hands move A LOT faster without gloves on and are harder to parry or block the way you do in boxing matches.
Also you don't always have the room to fight like you do in boxing a fight could break out anywhere at anytime.
But at the same time what AK say I agree with too.
If your any kind of boxer you still got footwork and should know how to work the angles better than a fighter who doesn't enough to give you the edge for a win.
So it could go both ways.
