Why Is Mos Def's Picture in this news article instead of John Mellancamps who is the the main focus of the story? Some media outlets try to be slick as hell expecting people to NOT read but simply take a quick glance at a headline, wisk away with a thought and keep it moving. In this case the message ... another Black face causing drama in Jena is what the NON READER would draw from this undoubtedly

With everyone claiming the associated press as there source, wtf decided to just attach a picture whose caption underneath appears to be totally unrelated to the subject. Damn...gotta get out and about for the day but this shit caught my attention this morning and its not the first time I've noticed this kind of thing

Aaah.......media fuckery. Almost brings us back to that Katrina "looters" and "finders" shit. They are so subliminal with it that no one isn't supposed to notice. Now you can say folks are reaching on this (and other things) but I've worked/work in a newsroom and this kind of shit is customary in order to discredit people/serious topics. One thing most people dont know, especially about news papers, is when someone (usually black and maybe even famous) gets caught up in some shit, they look for the most idioitic looking photo of the person (mouth open, haggard looking) to run because it instantly demonizes the individual. You see tons of examples of it when brown folks are being led away in cuffs and they run the footage in slow motion over and over again (like we cant tell what the fuck is going on). The media can get sloppy with their shit, but are WAY more sinister with it than careless.
