Teenager rapper Lil Mama’s label, Jive Records, confirms that her mother has died. Though official announcements from her or her representatives have yet to be released, reports say that Tyra Kirkland was diagnosed with colon cancer in 2003. Lil Mama (born Niatia Jessica Kirkland) was in Atlanta, GA preparing for the next show with labelmate Chris Brown’s Up Close & Personal Tour when she was told. Yeah, but the vast majority do just fine. You only hear about the busts. At least give her a chance to actually go broke before you start assuming she's gonna. We know nothing about her financial situation at this point (pro or con). As stated earlier, her real money probably hasn't even started rolling in yet. Plenty of time to get it straight.

At least at 18 she has more control over her money than a 15-year-old would.
