Most out of place/unexpected reference in a rap song?

I just had a Canibus song from the classic album Rip The Jacker in my head and, after looking up the lyrics and annotations, I realized I never quite caught all the details in the second verse.

[Verse 2: Canibus]

I should get twenty dollars and go to Econo Lodge
And tie the sawed-off trigger around the doorknob
Call the police squad and tell them I'm in room 105
And that a dirty bomb is inside
Woke up in the cargo plane playin' Christy Lane
For some entertainment while I train in the misty rain
"One Day at a Time Sweet Jesus" is playin'
I'm sittin' there prayin' you prolly can't believe what I'm sayin'
But the voice in the back of my head keeps sayin' "Germaine
This is the real deal man this is not a dream. This is not a game.
The only sixteen you got from now on is locked
And loaded and in your hand
Deploy or detach on land-- You the man
And the pain is the weakness leavin' the body, understand?"

...

So I check the annotation for "Woke up in the cargo plane playin' Christy Lane for some entertainment while I train in the misty rain. 'One Day at a Time Sweet Jesus' is playin'..." and read:

At the top of Canibus’s playlist:

I never thought to look it up. I found the reference to be hilarious, especially for the contrast against the tone and imagery of that verse.

This is dope. I remember in a ghost face verse can't remember the song he quoted an episode of Martin "ma mamas bird..." That shit was weird

Man Ghostface was coming out of left field with a lot of his verses, and I quote:

GZA - 'Liquid Sowrds'

"The only man a hold weight for
Is the sky-blue Bally kid, in '83 rocked Tale Lords
My Memorex performed tape decks, my own phone sex
Watch out for Haiti bitches, I heard they throw hex
Yo, Wu whole platoon is filled with raccoons
Corner-sitting wine niggas sipping Apple Boone
This ain't no white cartoon
Cos I be ducking crazy spades
The kid hold white shit like blacks rock ashy legs
Why is the sky blue? Why is water wet?
Why did Judas rat to Romans while Jesus slept?

Stand up, you're out of luck like two dogs stuck
Ironman be sipping rum, out of Stanley Cups, unflammable
Noriega, aiming nozzles stay windy in Chicago
Spine-tingle, mind boggles
Kangols in rainbow colors, promoters try to hold dough
Give me mine before Po wrap you up in so-and-so
I ran the Dark Ages, Constantine the Great, Henry the 8th
Built with Genghis Khan, the red suede Wally Don"

This song is so fucking good.

"...
Let the world know the truth but it became my demise
Motherfucker, you know we even-- I don't owe you a dime
Sometimes I feel like killin' myself, they've stolen my shine
I wanted to be the illest for a moment in time
..."
And I haven't listened to "One Day At A Time" by Christy Lane since this thread was made and the contrast just makes it even better. The reference makes more sense on a second listen. The two songs would make a good pairing on a mixtape.
