Morgan Freeman gets called out on his bootstraps politricks bullshit

Mr. Clark has said a couple eyebrow raising things over the years. On his respectability politic soapbox and shit.

Let me play Devil's Advocate: For every person who don't believe you can make it out the bottom to the top ...

...there is going to be someone who did, who feels, because they did it, other people should be able to do it, too. Both people are mental prisoners of their own life experiences.

Morgan Freeman lost an arm in a car wreck in Mississippi back in 2008. He's been growing progressively crazier ever since.

So true..
I can't fault Morgan Freeman for his opinion as he isn't the only black celeb to say this. James Brown more or less said the same thing and we all know he supported Richard Nixon. It seems these folks fail to realize no matter how talented and gifted You are if you happen to be black in America you are going to have tougher time than less talented white Americans. Both Brown and Freeman come from a very openly racist America and maybe after going through it for so long they become numb To the experience or as you say become prisoners to their own experiences.

Hmm!! Fuck the mainstream media and all forms of media!! Stop investing your time and money into this industry!!! It just kills me how our so called spokesperson are always hand picked by the establishment and are nothing but script readers.. These gatekeepers are placed in all levels of society, to pop up and keep the masses in check!!

Um damn bro....you hit'em deep with that one. That right there make a brother stop in his track and review life decisions right there.

Not surprising, this is the same dude that said there shouldn't be a Black History Month.......

His point was that it shouldn't be a Black History month because it's demeaning to regulate all of our contributions to America to one month. Our history should be taught every day of the year because America wouldn't be what it is today without us. The fact they cherry pick Martin Luther King from a history so vast and rich and show him and him only on the shortest month of the year is some bullshit.

I digress tho.

Now imagin white women teachers across the country teaching kindergarteners and 1st graders black history. Projects like here is your black history person, make a paper doll and write about who that person is. Required project by the way. It's such a fail.

Trying to explain slavery and racism to a kindergartner is like trying to explain computers to a person who has never used one.

Morgan is, and has always been, a "let's give white people a chance" type of Kneegro. It's a peculiar thing but I've noticed a lot of black people born in the deep South have that
subservient inferior attitude when it come to dealing with whites. People like Freeman, who played the good Nigra to Miss Daisy a little too naturally for my tastes , Charles Barkley,
Grinnin' Nigga and token Senator Tim Scott, Clarence (Uncle Ruckus) Thomas, Herman Cain, Jesse Lee Peterson, Condoleezza Rice, Armstrong Williams, Allen West, Artur Davis, Alveda King, Karl Malone, Lynn Swann and another Grinnin' Nigga Sheryl Underwood.

Seems hundred of years of being told "you ain't shit" has been effectively bred into them and they'll do and say anything and everything to show whitey they're not like those other Negroes. My hatred of Toms and Tomasinas is right up there with my loathing of white bigots and racists, perhaps even more. :hmm:

See why this coon assed opinion is dangerous? Bitch nigga.

This is dangerous bc a lot of what he's saying is true, but it's out of context. I'd refer people to another thread "The half that's never been told" if they want to understand it in a better context. A lot of people "built" America... but slaves provided the foundation for what America is, and without that foundation there wouldn't be the wealth and there wouldn't have been the opportunity to invite immigrants over to expand it. The wealth from the output of slave labor fueled everything. Period. It fueled manufacturing in the north - entire towns of workers - where there was a labor intense environment.

Very dangerous to let this sort of bull shit go unchecked. Very very dangerous. All sorts of false equivalences. The Arab world example is another. The Arab world was the center of the world for 800 years. The Ottoman empire was the Jimziggity. Not sure how that gets glossed over so cavalierly but it just did.

Scary part is that it ain’t just white folk who that this. There are a handful of coons latching on to this diseased thinking. Ask these clowns if slaves were so insignificant why did they use our labor for 250 years?

Yes, exactly! The white man said it so it has to be true. That's the problem. The pump is primed for lies since that's all we've been taught. We need to understand and expect that... so coons repeating what ignorant white people say won't ever die.

WE have to be smarter... more informed. Yes the Arab slave trade existed... AND, yes, the Ottoman Empire was the center of the world for about 700 years. America ain't but 200 years old... people need to get a grip and understand how new this nation is.

Yup, but that still isn't the half of it. In order to teach the truth of slavery and the black experience you would have to disavow and change the bullshit and patriotic nonsense that make up the vast majority of school text books.

Right on, but it wasn't just the output of the slaves that built america. It was also the slaves themselves. The very black bodies of our ancestors were used as assets to create an industry that enabled america to become what it is. In addition to the labors.

the problem is many people don't see the street as two way and simply want to explain away everything as victimhood of white supremacy.

and most of those who feel that way thing these 70 ,80 and 90 year old black men somehow lived in a much better time and didn't face racism, white supremacy and racial violence.

some of them think the police just started killing black folks or that laws and society just started treated black folks as less than human because it is on camera phone now..

and they don't believe personal responsibility has any role in it at all. they don't believe that thinking along these lines is just as crippling as white folks.

they don't realize that if their child can't read or know his alphabet by the times he is 5 years old ,it isn't the white folks that didn't teach them.

there are two things at play

personal responsibility and social policy

Now Imagine if you simply left the teaching of math and science to the white teacher and you taught your own damn child black history .Imagine if you taught your own child how to read and also how to think by having discussions with them about what they read?

How about if you took and active role in what they taught your child so that your child was taught to think and question?

Imagine if you showed up to parent-teacher conference and school plays and programs? Here is a secret, be the teacher black or white if they see your ass in that school enough to know your name by site your child will benefit.

Imagine when your child showed their ass you busted their ass because they are taught they represent their family when they walk out the house instead of making excuses for their bad asses..

Imagine if you made it a point to know where your children are and who their friends are....And your children know what is acceptable and are taught consequences.

Imagine if you teach your children pride in their blackness and that nobody can define them or their worth.

Funny thing is that a great many of the black men Morgan's age and older didn't know how to read or had very little formal education and many who had parents who couldn't.

Black folks who grew up during the great depression and many who got out of poverty did so because they were drafted into WW2 and got to college because of the GI Bill and purchased homes because of the GI bill.

Personal responsibility and social policy

Yeah, that's true, however, that's. it always going to be the case for a lot of kids. In an ideal situation, parents being actively involved in their child's education has the benefits but their are so many adults that are uneducated themselves.

We can always say it's personal responsibility, but it's definitely within a system to teach kids certain things that they know are at a major disadvantaged and unable to critically think outside their environment.

Being uneducated doesn't mean they won't place importance on education...My grandparents were both uneducated but they made up for it with pride and common sense.

We also had Urban centers and community centers where black people mentored and tutored. And in those days we never relied on the schools to teach out history...elders have always done that until to many of us stopped teaching our children to respect elders.

The problem lies when we say the system should teach and then we turn over the reigns...Then want to stomp when that system we gave free reign too doesn't teach or doesn't teach truth.

Anybody with a child should know that schools teach to tests now and critical thinking isn't taught..So if you know that and still sit back waiting for THEM.. its your fault.

as I said....personal responsibility AND social policy......not one or the other BOTH

Not only that... but The Irish got paid to do a job. They built what they were paid to build. Not like there wasn’t compensation.
