Can u still make any type of money in collecting comic books?
If so for starters if I wanted to start which comic books should I start with?

What type of money are you talking about?

The only people making money are speculators that kept track of artist and writers career and collected first runs and dumped them during the peak for max profit.

Unless you are finding golden age books for chump change the business side of comics for collectors is real thin.

I actually do some book running - look for books at warehouses dumps like Carbo's warehouse - and sell them back to hunters on ebay, craiglist and other forums. I mostly do this for a hobby because I like it. But from time to time I make some serious money but at times it's not work the work I put it.

Books that were worth a shit ton of money are on the market for $0.15 everywhere you go.

This is a reader's market now and most of the buyers are going digital day by day. You have to find the older cats and the vinyl fuckers (ppl that still buy vintage shit in a hipster fashion) to make any type of coin these days

Ehhhh, maybe I might Jus try to get my hands on some first run joints such as Infinity series, Civil War, Avengers vs. Xmen and try to keep em mint and leave em to the lil ones down the road.
Props on the info.

I think so, since everything is going digital having a first issue might be worth it then

I wish you luck. I thought along the same lines and my kids and my friend's kids and kids that I know in general that do read comics do that shit on their phones, tablets or on the computer. Young Ppl are just not fucking with the upkeep of comics anymore.

Buying the physical copy.
Buying the bags and boards.
Buying the boxes.
Assembling the boxes.
Organizing the collection.
Bagging, boarding and adjusting the books.
Checking on the boxes for critters, wear and tear and adjustments.
Changing the bag and board every 6 months.

Kids these days be like...

I click.

Shit, I only get TPBs in physical form these days on the DIRT CHEAP - the most I will spend is $4.00 on a TPB and I treat them like any other book on my shelf. Read them and dust them from time to time to one day pass on to the kids or their kids. If they get dinged - fuck it. Spine worn - fuck it. Bent corner - fuck it.

If you got your kids reading at all - then you did a good fucking job because collecting comics will be like vinyls. Some Ppl will do it but they will have to be a special kind of monster to keep at that shit and it will be rare as fuck they are worth anything to anyone else.

I would agree with everything that was said previously and also add that it is just like sports card industry. Everything is done in mass production that having a collectors item is almost impossible. You could get away with that 40+ years ago, but not anymore.
