Resurgence Pack

* "Carnival," a large abandoned theme park that offers lots of unique vantage points that work well for all game modes. The once vibrant rides now sit idle and neglected as perfect cover points in one of the most original multiplayer locations for Modern Warfare 2.

* "Fuel," a massive oil refinery with extremely long sightlines great for medium- to long-range firefights. The spacious surroundings offer a great sniper advantage; offices, warehouses, and buildings house objectives and provide opportunity for close-range firefights.

* "Trailer Park," a medium-sized mobile estate with a maze of tight flank routes and lots of cover. Junk covered yards, deserted trailers, and debris-riddled surroundings offer intense firefights with a wide variety of vantage points and routes available.

* "Strike," a large urban desert town, excellent for medium-to-large team games. The large monument, connecting streets, and surrounding buildings offer great firefights in Team Deathmatch, and great vantage points for objective team games.

* "Vacant," a deserted Russian office complex offering a great mixture of interior and exterior combat. Long hallways with minimal cover points offer a fast escape route for potential runners, but high accuracy and fast aiming is required when advancing through this large complex.

Whats the point of having BLACK OPS come out this year if they're still making map packs for mw2.. isnt that undercutting?

its too soon for a NEW Call of Duty game in my opinion.. MW2 is still going strong I would wait til that dies down.

btw, infinityward, FIX THAT FUCKING COMMANDO PERK.. the gayest shit ever

they are making money on it. i'd do the same.

i uninstalled MW2 on the PC because i refuse to pay for map updates
after all the years of getting 100s of community mod maps for free.

Treyarch is doing BLACK OPS which drops in November. Infinity Ward isn't done getting our money with the new DLC.

They make sure you're playing one of the COD games all year round.

Expect at least one more Map Pack to drop. Probably around end of August/Beginning of September for Back To School. Then come winter, Black Ops will drop.

If they do that BLACK OPS is destine to fail then. cus everytime a map pack comes out it turns MW2 into a new game all over again now compare that to having to buy a NEW $65 game that ISN'T made my infinity ward... i dont foresee a profitable future for black ops

First off its a completely different company and they haven't dropped a game in almost 2 years. Treyarch and infinity Ward both are on the Call of Duty label. And no...It wouldn't be undercutting Black OPS. World at War did the same thing prior to MW2's release. They dropped the 3rd map pack in mid August if memory serves me correctly. If your a big CoD fan...and got the money it doesn't matter. They could probably drop a map pack every week and still make mad money.

What are you talkin about...How long have you been playing Call of Duty?...They've basically been dropping map packs since CoD3 and haven't loss any profits yet. The only thing thats changed is they've realized how much money was made by WaW's 3 separate map packs and they've decided to drive up the price to $15 from $10. Please believe CoD isnt losing any money...Be it map packs or any other 1st person shooters.

I havent been playing the Call of Duty series as long as you obviously. I started from COD4. I skipped over WaW and jumped to MW2..

But all im saying is I dont see how its smart to have fresh maps pack and a new addition to the franchise (black ops) all out at the same time...how much call of duty can you deal with at one time?
 
YES!!!!I watched this the other day on Xbox live demo's. Fucking ill. I can't wait to fight in that carnival level.

Its not like they're running that close together. If MW2 does drop a 3rd map pack it'll probably be between mid August to mid September. Black OPS doesn't drop until November. And its not like theres a whole bunch of new shit to learn. You get three new maps not counting the other two cause their "archived". Most people who get the map packs get them in the first few days, and have mastered their layouts within a week. They could drop a map pack two weeks before the Black OPS release and both games would still make money. I assure you their wont be any drops in sales. Black OPS will probably do just as good as WaW if not better...maybe even better the first MW. You've also gotta realize that they're taking CoD some where its never been...the Cold War/Vietnam era. the cusp of where most modern weapons and tactics have derived. I expect to see a lot of experimental and exotic guns from the weapon's race fallout of that era. And i'll say it now...Black OPS will easily take "GOTY" as MW2 did last year. Please believe CoD's revenue will stay in the black.

it's simple mathematics. each year, Treyarch and Infinity Ward trade off on the COD franchise. they always drop in November right in time for Holiday Season. then systematically, they drop a new map pack once in each quarter to add revenue for that respective quarter.

because they made so much money on the game this holiday season, they held out dropping new DLC. now that Treyarch Black Ops ads are running, IW sped up the product cycle and are already dropping a new DLC despite the first one dropping not too long ago.

this will be the pattern til the franchise dies. and heads will have reason to play COD all year round.

That trailer park map is a campers dream. People camping in the trailer that shit pissed me off.

carnival is fun. its a huge map most campers will stay up top and tube you to death down below. It is fun to snipe on.

Fuel I only got to play once but it has a lot of hiding spots. Its a decent size map but i didn't get to see much of it.


Vacant and strike are the same as before with more detail. I also noticed that the maps seem darker. I had to turn the brightness up in the game cause people were hiding in plain sight but i couldn't see them.

Wait a minute...In order to be a sniper, you gotta camp.....Plus trailer park is like the ultimate map....You can't camp too tough because there are too many angles where you can get shot....I think it's one of the best maps on MW2...

I understand with being a sniper you have to camp, but the trailer park games i was in. people were camping and using the noob tube. I ran up on mad people just laying down in the trailers waiting for people to run by. The first 2 games i played thats all people did. But now that i know the map and have my sentry guns in certain spots its all good. :lol:
