MLB now recognizes Negro League stats, Josh Gibson as single-season record holder in batting average, SLG and OPS

Barry still is more impressive than either of them for doing it against the best the world had to offer:

Gibson, who played for the Pittsburgh Crawfords and Homestead Grays, also becomes MLB’s career leader in all three categories. The previous records for slugging and OPS in a season and career were both held by Barry Bonds.

Seems like MLB is happy to get Barry off the top of the leaderboards.

One of the things that makes Josh Gibson so impressive is that he was a catcher, yet could hit with so much power.

Word is Gibson would destroy MLB pitching in those exhibition games.
