More consistent than ATL or Miami? I mean cats on this board act like Paul Wall, Slim Thugg, Lil Flip and Mike Jones were lyrical beasts. They had some nice beats but thats it. Mike Jones and Slim Thug arent even good rappers. Paul Wall and Flip are debatable

A lot of people don't know but Bad Boy south was supposed to center around Houston instead of ATL but J. Prince wanted too big of a cut so Puff shifted to ATL.

Houston has a lot of artist that have never been big time but have huge followings. Z Ro has been around for a long time. Sold a lot of shows and things of that nature but will never be on 106th and Park. Lil Flip was big time in the South at one point. Back in the day he was dropping mix cds and them suckers sold. People don't know the influence that DJ Screw had on a lot of peoples careers down here. They just never blew up to national attention.
Big Moe
Big Pokey
Z Ro
Flip
Lil O
Slim Thug
From Slim Thugs camp J Dawg...dude has good music but will never go big
Big Mike
ESG
UGK...They have never gone platinum and are some of the biggest names in the industry
Ya'll probably have never heard of South Park Mexican. Dude was running the Mexican rap scene in Houston till get got locked up for fucking lil girls.
The list goes on and on but the issue mainly with Houston rap is all they talk about is drank and rims.
Back in the day DJ Screw used to sell a grey tape every tuesday or wednesday. Say he sold a 1,000 of them for 10 bucks. Look at how much money that nigga was pulling in. No label![]()

No Lil Troy??? That Wanna be a Balla carried TX into the 2000s
Don't mind him. Trick Trick, Mysterious from Making The Band & ICP are more of his speed.![]()
Don't fuck with killer mike or jeezy too tough. I couldn't listen to jeezy until TM 101 last year. Prior he was straight trash to me. And I already said I fucks with TI. But overall as a city Atl killed Hip Hop with all that trash they were putting out in the early 2000s
