Mike ‘The Bodysnatcher’ McCallum, Legendary Jamaican Boxer, Dies

Mike McCallum, the legendary Jamaican boxer known as “The Bodysnatcher,” has died. He was 68.


The athlete was driving to the gym in Las Vegas on Saturday, May 31, when he fell ill and pulled off the road, according to The Jamaica Observer.


McCallum was later found unresponsive and then declared dead, the outlet reported. His official cause of death has not yet been revealed.

One of the best to ever do it. He may be the best at 154 of all time. McCallum and Hearns 1a and 1b at Jr Middle, either one could be 1a. His fight with Donald Curry and his two fights with James Toney are all masterpieces of high level technical boxing. RIP.

Gotta watch that first fight with Toney again...haven't seen it in decades...I know its regarded as one of the best examples of technical boxing ever
