.....for 2-yrs/$1.6M. Unneeded presure? Or will McNabb welcome Vick with openarms? I know McNabb wanted some more weapons, but at QB????? Coincendentally, McNabb's contract runs out in 2-yrs. Will he resign? Will he be given a choice? Especially if Vick plays to 'high' standards.

His (McNabb's) back-up, Kolb drops down the chart.

Any thoughts?:confused::confused:

UPDATE:

According to Eagles Coach Andy Reid, the signing of Vick was a good football move,and QB Donovan McNabb is "on board" with the move. In fact, McNabb "lobbied" for Vick. The fact that Vick is familiar with the "west-coast offense" is a positive. It remains unknown what his physical attributes are--after what amounts to a two-year layoff.

Unless Goodell changes his mind, Vick will begin the season after the first 6-games.

This is going to be interesting. Not sure what kind of hands Vick has, but I'm looking for him to occassionally play the "slash" position. Not at first and not on a regular basis, but I wouldn't be surprised to see it 4 or 5 times per game. Imagine a WR/HB that can run and throw like him?? Throw Westbrook and Jackson in the mix and you got yourself a hellafied run and shoot type offense. Of course, alot depends on who the Eagles have as their 3rd string QB because you can use Vick that way if your next guy is only a project type player

Well the Eagles still have Kolb who is supposed to be their QB of the future, so they have another QB on hand that they like

They also 'like' A.J. Feeley. He's been with them for several years. The so-called "hole-card", for that spot.

I don't rxpect the Eagles to carry four QB's throughout the season, making Feeley 'trade-bait'....assuming Kolb's knee sprain is truly a 'sprain'.

After listening to an interview this afternoon on ESPN's OTL, McNabb stated that--at times--he may be used as a slot back' or wide-out, while Vick gets under center. But it won't be a 'run n shoot' concept. They don't have the type of O-line necessary for that type of formation.

If the Eagles win the SB this season, look for McNabb to demand a contract extention, NOT a raise. A new contract! If not, he's gone. His current deal ends in 2010. If the experience with Vick is positive, Donovan can always say he left the Eagles in 'good hands'. Plus, Lurie will exercise the teams' option on Vick.

If that happens, another problem will surface.....Kevin Kolb. He may not want to continue in the role as 'back-up'.
