Philadelphia Eagles QB Michael Vick earned honors as the NFC's Offensive Player of the Month for September.
Vick replaced an injured Kevin Kolb just before halftime in Week 1 and responded with one of the hottest months of any player in the league.
He completed 61% of his passes (54-for-89) for 750 yards and six TDs with no interceptions. Vick also added 170 yards rushing and a running touchdown.
He has helped the Eagles to a 2-1 record, and they have outscored their opponents 80-49 since he was inserted into the lineup.
"I just keep my eyes on the prize and just to where I'm going and where I'm trying to get to," Vick said Wednesday. "That's the most important thing. The past is the past, and you've just got to look forward to the future."
The Player of the Month honor comes as the Eagles prepared to welcome former QB Donovan McNabb to Philadelphia on Sunday. Vick said Wednesday he hopes fans in Philadelphia will give McNabb a standing ovation when he returns with the Washington Redskins.
Eagles rookie safety Nate Allen also was honored as the league's Rookie of the Month. Allen was drafted 37th overall with a pick the Eagles acquired from the Redskins in exchange for McNabb.
Allen said he doesn't dwell on the McNabb connection.
"I try not to worry about it too much. I could see if I was a quarterback or something like that," he said.
But, he added, "I know I' m going to keep hearing it."
