Black Republican congressmen? Where is JC Watts Jr. and Gary Franks?
Black republicans always cry that we (Black folk) should not beholden to one political part (i.e. Democratic). I say if the republicans give us (Black folk) something to rally with them for, you will see droves of Black folk support them. It happen right after the Civil War. In the 1880s, Radial Republicans made sure that white America honored the creed of the Constitution. This was short lived and of course, white folks lost their stomach for supporting and enforcing Black civil rights and abandon Black folk, which lead to 80 years of Jim Crow laws. In US history, there has been only a handful of nationally elected Black folk, the majority being Democrats. Why won’t whites vote for blacks and why don’t black republicans blame whites for not supporting Black republican candidates? Yet Black republicans blame Black folk for not joining the republican party.
…things that make you go hmm!

"What we have to do is bring back the recognition that the people of this country can solve its problems. I still believe the answer to any problem lies with the people. I believe in state's rights and I believe in people doing as much as they can for themselves at the community level and at the private level. I believe we have distorted the balance of our government today by giving powers that were never intended to be given in the Constitution to that federal establishment."
Ronald Reagan in 1980, kicking off his Presidential campaign at the Neshoba, Mississippi County Fair, six miles from Philadelphia, Mississippi. Philadelphia, Mississippi is known for only one thing; the murders of civil rights workers; Michael Schwerner, James Earl Chaney and Andrew Goodman in 1964.
