....if he wants to play in the NFL. The holdout has already cost him around $16-17 Million (based on #10 contract money).

Crabtree feels that he is better athlete than Raiders WR Darrius Heywood-Bey (drafted #7). And he's probably right, but he was drafted in the #10 slot. Therefore, he will get #10 money....so says 49'er owner, Jed York, and seconded by coach Mike Singletary.

However, Crabtree has 'vowed' to get 'top five' $$$...no less than #7, or else he'll set out the season and re-enter the draft next year. Not wise. Scouts report that next season's draft class is as good as this years' group....maybe better. Crabtree could drop to the teens, and with the added 'baggage' gained from holding out he may not be drafted at all.

There is also the possibly that the 49'ers will change their original offer, and as a 'carrot' to Crabtree, load it with incentives.....well out of his reach.

He decided to play 'chicken', but may be the first to blink.

I am far from an expert on this... However, it would seem that not getting to a contract before the season started is going to be a tactical failure for Crabtree. I think he is not only fucking up his money now.. he is taking a huge risk with his entire career... It is not done yet, but either he is really THAT short-sighted himself or he has too much trust in his handlers who are giving him horrible advice...

He is losing a year's salary. He is tarnishing his reputation. What makes him think next year will bring a better offer?

I am taking in consideration that he is unproven. Next year he will still be unproven and would have been off the field for a year.

This may not be the best long term plan.

Money isn't everything, but he has to understand that while he is being looked at and treated as a valuable commodity, he CAN be replaced. NO franchise is gonna bend to will of one man over said franchise, not even if that mans' name is Jordan or Gretzky.....

or Crabtree

He's probably 'banking' on "Captain-Save-a-Pro" coming to his aid. Crabtree's agent was quoted as saying that "his client doesn't need the money. He already has more than $750,00 in endorsements".

If that's true, he'll hold out until next season.

the reason why he is still holding out is because he has endorsement deals worth approx 750k. Although it is not nfl money is it more than enough to live on while he fights it out with the 49ers.

who in the hell would want to touch him if he already thinks he is better that anoyone else

He Is Dumb If He Thinks He WIll Get Draft Higher Next Season

I has to be all about ego, pride, etc at this point.... because there is no fucking way he gets drafted in a higher position next draft..ESPECIALLY, with the WR and QB crop that is coming out next draft... then add his baggage,...no fucking way..

:confused::confused: Who wrote this dumb ass shit? Heyward-Bey is on the Raiders.

Crabtree answered the question,
and came in from the 'cold'.....not a minute too soon. The 49'ers signed him to a six-year deal, which is 'conditional'....based on his production anf effort. If 'positive', his contract could change to a five-year obligation.

Having missed approximately ten-weeks of the season, Crabtree will lean heavily on the teaching/advice of veteran WR Issac Bruce to help bring him up to par. But his presence will strengthen the team...already playoff bound.

There were no monetary figures mentioned, but the $$$ info will come out later.
