After listening to Reverend C.L. Bryant, I was appalled.
In order to tell you why I was appalled, I transcribed
his speech, below (if there are errors in my trans-
cription, please accept my apologies and please make
corrections as necessary):
Patriots, here me today.
We must be vigilant.
Because we have an enemy.
This time not an enemy without.
Americans will always ban together when we are attacked form an outside source.
But one of the things we must fear, one of the things we must be vigilant about is the enemy within.
There are <SPAN style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #ffff00">people inside of our government that take every serious issue and try to make it an issue of color</span>. But friends today I bring this message to you that we need to tell them that were through playing those games, we ain't in the color game anymore, were tired of it, tired of being lied on, we will not play the game, anymore.
The only thing they need to know is that we want them to get out of doctors offices; that
we want them to get out of children’s lives; and we want them to take their hands out of
our pockets. Leave us alone.
We the people, remember us.
We lend them our power.
They work for us.
And Americans will not be ruled over.
Neither will Americans be tread upon.
<SPAN style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #ffff00">There is an enemy I tell you.</span>
That will destroy the very fiber and the very nature of our country.
There is an enemy that is grappling for the soul of this nation.
We must be aware that <SPAN style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #ffff00">we are locked in a mortal battle right now</span>.
One that we must prevail
one that we cannot lose
or the America that you and I know the one that you and I love will soon vanish into
pages of history.
So, today I want to say this one thing, that I a Black American am able to stand here
because America is the greatest success story the world has ever known.
We know, we know that they would like for us to go away; we know that they would
like of us to sit down and be quiet. We know that they would like for us to continue
to play that game. But we send this message that we will not play the game and we
will not go away quietly into the night, we are Americans, we will stand.
All of the country is the runaway slave; because I encourage people everywhere to runaway
from the bondage of economic slavery. Run towards the blessing so of liberty that
our constitution guarantees.
These last few days, since last Thursday, <SPAN style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #ffff00">I</span> started in New Orleans and <SPAN style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #ffff00">I’ll</span>
wind up in D.C. tonight. But all over this country Americans just like you
are hearing this message. And as <SPAN style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #ffff00">I</span> leave you today, <SPAN style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #ffff00">I</span> just want to know one
thing, are there any Patriots out there who will stand up for God and Country,
who will stand up for America, Patriots, stand up. Stand up.
I'll make my point later. My Gumbo is getting cold and I don't want crab juice all over my keyboard.
