Melania had ‘green card’ from prior marriage

A former immigration attorney for Donald Trump’s organization raised new questions about the GOP presidential nominee’s wife’s immigration status in an interview published by Univision on Friday.

“Ms. Trump received citizenship in 2006 and prior to that she had a green card based on marriage,” said Michael Wildes. “Before that, she had a work visa and was in full compliance on her visas and never disrespected any of them. That has been made clear to me.”

Melania Trump married the real estate mogul in January 2005, which she has said is her first marriage. She has stated in the past that she obtained the “green card” designating her as a lawful permanent US resident in 2001.

Wildes did not explain the apparent discrepancy, saying in an email that he “didn’t hear back” from the Trump Organization when he asked about it.

Wildes, a former federal prosecutor who currently identifies himself as a supporter of Hillary Clinton, said he was authorized by the Trump Organization “to speak on the matters concerning Melania.” He said that he obtained visas and “green cards” for participants in the Miss Universe pageant while it was owned by the real estate mogul.

The Hill reported that, according to Wildes, he did not know “how or when” Melania Trump obtained her “green card.”

“I told [Univision] it predated my representation and he’d have to get the information elsewhere,” Wildes was quoted as saying.

This is what happens when someone campaigns for the office of president since 1999, or whenever they thought of being senator from New York.

The attorney later said that he does not know the basis of her green card petition.
It's still suspect though , because she did not have any special skills to have been able to get it by being a low budget model.

So she got married for her papers?
We don't know yet, but it can be easily verified if someone decides to look into it. I'm thinking that she did not , because a journalist would have found out in less than 24 hours.

Either way, it bespeaks the hypocrisy of Donald Trump, who
having railed against illegal immigration is caught in this
situation. The closest person in his life, and his latest baby
mama, having immigrations question is not salutary to his
circumstance..

Less than 24 hours?

How so? Unless they pay her ex-husband money to talk. Even then Trump probably paid him and put a gag order on him.

Hope you are aware that you can easily go through court records to obtain copies of marriage licenses, right?
You can also file a freedom of info application to obtain immigration records. Lol.
Finally, anybody who knew the couple could volunteer the information do a quick $50k+.

Going through the records do not necessarily show she married to get papers. Obviously they had enough proof to show immigration that the marriage was legit and it wasn't only for a green card.

Please think. She met Trump in 1998 , 2 years before she got her green card , and she said that Trump is her first husband. Why would she be lying now ?

I am not saying she did not married to get her papers. I am saying looking through her immigration papers does not necessarily prove that she committed a fraud. Simply because once couples meet the requirements and pass the interview the immigration deem the marriage legit. The question is did she lied about her previous marriage when she file for her citizenship?

Did she lied to an immigration officer or this is all about she lying to the public?

if there is evidence that she worked over here while on a visitor's visa - it jeopardizes her current status, even though she is married and has citizenship

the nude photos were 95 and the photog says it was not for pay... I don't think investigative journalists are going after this - yet, but I hope they do - and somehow get Trumps tax returns

She bout to get deported once Trump losses and the campaign is over lmaoo

Hmmmm......not really.
If that's the case millions of naturalized citizens current status would be in jeopardy now.

No, the authorities do not go after you unless they have actual facts of your deceit and in this case they can go after her if they have actual knowledge of it.

It won't be to the point that they will strip her of her citizenship.

LOL, I used to practice immigration law and I've seen them denaturalize a Senegalese man for that same reason. They don't investigate just for fun. They investigate to start shit against you and you just don't get a fine.

As I said, they don't start investigations for little stuff, but if they get wind of stuff and if they are pressured into going after you, you are fucked. No matter how small the offense.

This is a more complicated situation. She is married to a prominent American
and a child. Whatever her past transgressions, there can be no questions or
suspicions regarding her current marriage

Yes, the Judge will give her relief. I've forgotten the name of the relief but they will cancel her removal proceeding for that reason that she has a child that could suffer if she leaves.

He was denaturalized only because he worked on a visitor visa? :hmm:
