FOCUS ON A FIREFIGHTER: Meet Charlotte Fire Engineer Venessa Roy. Born in Fort Bragg, NC, Venessa moved to Charlotte in 2005 to attend Johnson C. Smith University, where she graduated with a BA in economics and a BS in accounting. In 2009, she joined the Charlotte Fire family as a graduate of Recruit Class 81. Venessa is currently an engineer at Firehouse 22.
