Ma$e has had an up and down career to say the least. As one of the biggest Hip-Hop artists of the mid 90s, the Harlem rapper had a slew of hit records before he retired to become a pastor.

A big reason he left the game was being under contract with Sean "Diddy" Combs' Bad Boy Records for this entire time. “I've been in that contract for 16 years. wow- did you notice that G Dep only made 2 albums tops?
and never had to pay that back- so that equals 2 albums for 350k - if he got all of it- which he probably did, or at least had that amount spent on him. Shit, them 2 vieos for that one song look like they cost at least that amount. The lifestyle he was able to live before he smoked himself out- he was taken out of the ghetto.

not defending labels, but no one ever notices that most of the records that come out FLOP.

That means there are 10 other G Deps around from that time period, who also got 350k , never made an album, and never made any money for the label. And they never have to pay it back.

I dont know how much he was bringing in, but I do know shortly after he signed with Puff, he sold his publishing to him for 200k....

Like most young cats with no industry knowledge, Big probably seen the money and rushed to sign that contract with no idea that he could have made more if he didnt take the offer...
