Though it seems to be earlier now, I remember back in grade school that girls started liking boys LONG before boys started liking girls so the thoughts had to go along with that, however, society frowns upon young girls acting upon those thoughts, they are taught by their parents and, more specifically, their churches NOT to engage in any sexual behavior, or they will be thought of as "bad girls".

Boys on the other hand, are encouraged by their peers to engage in sexual behavior AS SOON AS THEY CAN, and anyone who doesn't is deemed "not cool!"

TOTALLY agree. Hell, I remember back in the day where this guy was telling me that his dad and uncles bought a hooker for his older brother's 16th b'day. Can you imagine being at your daughter's 16th b'day, and after she blows out the candles on the cake, you yell out, "Happy birthday, kitten! Sweetdick Willie, get in here!" ?

For me the answer is YES and the reason why is because I try to think and see beyond the obvious. By extension their are lots of other things in society that can be considered "double standard" some of which relate to race and socioeconomic standings, should we dismiss those as well? If you fail to see the Strings/Connections let me help your further. Is their a universal root/cause for "double standard" thinking? Further and if so, is their a way to eliminate or minimize it? and hopefully by extension it can commentate into kicking "double standard" thinking to the curb! I think society would benefit greatly, don't you?

I think the real trauma will be with her very own son.
