Man Puts Up A Fight After High Speed Pursuit

Police arrested a man Thursday who allegedly threatened officers inside a South Los Angeles police station before leading them on a nearly half-hour televised chase.

The unidentified suspect was taken into custody by about a dozen LAPD officers around 2:15 p.m. after a chase that began about 1:50 p.m. at the Southwest Area police station in the 1500 block of Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard, de More..partment spokeswoman Norma Eisenman said.

Police said the man walked into the station and said he wanted to kill police officers before running out and getting into his car, Eisenman said.
During the pursuit, the suspect ran through stop signs and red lights. He also drove on a sidewalk and into lanes with oncoming traffic. Two officers were injured in an accident during the chase

Dude's brother and mother were on the news and said he was a paranoid schizophrenic that was off his meds. They said that 2 weeks ago he watched his father(his best friend according to his mom) die as a result of a heart attack, and after that he stopped taking his medication. Without his meds he always would think po po was after him, and thats why he did this. His mother was crying and apologizing, sad

A Spartanburg, S.C., man on Wednesday received 16 years in state prison after admitting he led a state trooper on a high-speed chase, fired shots at the officer and threw computer equipment out of his vehicle on Oct. 13, 2008.

Christopher Adam Tessig More..ner, 27, pleaded guilty to assault with intent to kill, failure to stop for a blue light, possession of methamphetamine and possession of Lortab charges that stemmed from the incident.

Remarkably, no one was injured during the chase, despite many close calls. The chase lasted several minutes, originating on Highway 9 and Fourth Street in Boiling Springs, S.C..

The suspects Brother and Mother were on the local LA news tonight saying the cops won't let them bail him out.
The cops say he's in a hospital under the guard of the cops, but won't say which hospital.
I think they messed him up so bad they don't want him to be seen by the family or anyone else.

When I was watching the chase LIVE..I thought they were going to shoot him once they caught him.

I've never seen so many cops swarm one guy who's already pinned between cars, you know they busted him up REAL bad when they got him to the station.
They should have called in SWAT to handle that once he was stopped.

Yup, 2 banks coulda been robbed nearby and the cops would have been "busy" for a while with this dude.
Thing is, what the dude did was wrong-no question.
But the cops wanted to send a message..
"You run from us especially on LIVE TV..we WILL bust you up"
Like I said earlier, the suspects mother has not been allowed to see him because he's in a "Private/secure" hospital.

It's well known out here in LA that if you run from the cops, you gonna get it when they catch you.
Agreed he put allot of people in danger-no argument there.

My issue is this..his bail was set at 30K, but his Mother and Brother have NOT been allowed to post bail or even see him.
They went to the jail, cops said he's at a local hospital, they went to the hospital and were told he's NOT available to see visitors.
What's that about...?

It reminded me of those scenes from the Discovery Channel after the lions bring down large prey, then the whole pride just starts feeding and scraping with each other to get a chunk of meat.

re: the officer(s) that ran into the telephone pole, they did so because they didn't want to rear-end the unit in front of them. the lead unit inexplicably slowed down and the trailing vehicle swerved to avoid hitting them.

It's been at least 48hrs, where is the suspect...?
Even after they lumped up Rodney King you saw him within 12 hrs.
