Eight months after their blazing war, Marcos Maidana is still throwing bombs at England’s Amir Khan.

Tweeting from his training camp in Puerto Rico, Maidana said, “Very funny that Amir Khan says that he offered [a] fight to a number of fighters and they said no… What Khan doesn't say is that he begged the WBA in writting that they don't put me in front of him again, like we should have.”

The Argentine was responding to a recent series of quotes that appeared on BoxingScene.com, where the current IBF/WBA super champion said, “On July 23rd we offered the fight to [Tim] Bradley and he said no, [Juan Manuel] Marquez said no, [Erik] Morales also said no, [and I’m] glad [Zab] Judah took the fight on. I want to clean up the 140-pound division but no one wants to fight me.”

Maidana defends the WBA light welterweight “regular” title against Robert Guerrero on Aug. 27 in San Jose. A victory for Maidana would mandate Khan to defend his “super” title against him within 18 months, but that stipulation will probably be moot.

Golden Boy Promotions CEO Richard Schaefer has stated that Khan is looking at a farewell fight in December at 140 pounds before rising to the welterweight division next spring.

not surprised he didn't want to hang on to dear life again.....

no way do I see Maidana fighting Khan anytime soon....

I don't think Khan has to face Maidana again because Maidana deserves it per se. He won convincely, but if I were the WBA or as a fan... I want that rematch for that belt to go down. Morales had more of a war with Maidana, lost, but some how came out looking better to me. Khan has a lot to prove still because Precott is out there and maybe a more dominant performance in a Maidana rematch will make people forget. Of course, Maidana has to win his next fight too, but Maidana seems to want this rematch pretty bad.
