Whats the deal people. I have been studying for my LSATs for about a month now and have a few study guides but if anyone has any guides or sites (free) that could help me out, it would be greatly appreciated. Any help about anything to do with the LSAT or law school in general would be helpful actually. I mean, we need someone to take Johnnie's place (RIP)...

Coming out of lurker mode.

Now, you didnt pose a direct question in regards to what help you need so i guess you can get more specific on the law forums. whats your target score [dont say 180 lol], whats your problem? setups? specific game types? in anycase you can try these sites:

www.lawschooldiscussion.com [LSD] or top law schools forum [search yahoo for direct link] both sites are the best resource. go into their forums and make use of it. LSD also has a URM section for blacks so you can ask direct questions.

you can also try the forum law student paradise but you've got alot of simps on there who have already graduated and just post with the sole purpose of killing your hopes and dreams.

btw - im assuming your taking the dec. test for fall 08 entry? if not, i would definitely take a course like powerscore or testmasters. both kaplan and princeton review are shit.

you'll prob wanna know - i got a 174. you dont have to score that high..the average score for blacks [according to published statistics] is 142 so given that you have a UGPA that is decent and you can wade your way into 160's ,you will have a great shot at tier1 schools though not necessarily top14. good luck. this affirmative action thing isnt going to last forever. make use of it

btw - where did you get the idea to post such a question on bgol?? ...i swear you can find anything on these forums. i've found more knowledgeable resources that some sites actually geared towards such.

Thanks for the info...I have been trying to get ready for the Dec test but I am having a little difficulty with the games. I am easily getting thru the reading comp and the arguments with about 85-90% accuracy but the games are giving me hell. As far as getting the idea to post on here about it, I have seen topics that run the spectrum and someone always seems to have an answer so I figured I would give it a shot. I am taking the powerscore weekend course this weekend and I have been studying like a madman so I'm confident in the fact that I can make a 155-160 but I really want to get over the hump and get into the 168-172 range because the goal is NYU. I have been in contact with the recruiter a few times and she all but garunteed me, given my credentials, a 170 would virtually garuntee me entry and some aid. BTW, where did/do you go to law school?

This is BGOL not the Meet and Greet for Admitted students. I aint tellin you mannnn

Na, on the real, good luck, and if you feel that you're not ready, wait! Don't shoot yourself in the foot and take that test without being ready. I've seen so many fall by the wayside, going into that test with the hopes of winging it. If you're going to hit a 170 then your practice tests will reflect it [i.e 168, 171, 172, 169, 173]. Its not proper planning to be scoring in the 150s and thinking you're going to somehow wing a 170 on test day. A 170+ is attainable. Takes practice but like surfing through some of these bgol threads and easily extracting the quality, it becomes 2nd nature after lots of practice.

Does anyone know anything about intellectual properties or patent law? I was thinking that after my last year of grad school, that I would shoot for that. I'm really gettin' tired of research and law interests me, especially the aspect of copyright/patenting. I was just curious if there were any suggestions on how to approach it. Thanks in advanced...

u need a science background. my friends uncle has a degree from Cornell in Chemical Engineering and then went to a tier 1 law (although not top14)

A 174... A lot higher than I got... but I go to a tier 3. I missed 2 on the Logic games. The Kaplan helps a lot. But its all about identifying what type they are and then writing the games out. Not gonna lie when I took it most were linear. Its the easiest section and you'll know how you did on it.

what is the point of going to a tier 3 school? what is the point of going to any law school outside top14?
