......thus filling the void created by Reggie Bush (via "cut"). The Lions got what they needed. A high profiled running back, with a sterling on/off the field record. His on-field record is quite impressive. Some might question his size, but he might be a bigger Darren Sproles.

Ameer is listed at 5'8", carrying between 195-200 lbs. during his 4-year at Nebraska. During that time , he was a prolific all-around RB, racking up 1611 all-purpose yrds. and 19-TDs in his senior year. While with the Cornhuskers, he averaged 174.8 all-purposed yards per game. That total had him ranked 4th nationally. His career over-all total--7,186 ranked him 2nd in Big Ten history!. Thus, making him ONE of just eleven payers in FBS history to surpass 7,000 career all purpose yards.
