MIAMI -- After two days to reflect, LeBron James clarified his comments following the Miami Heat's loss to the Dallas Mavericks in the NBA Finals Sunday night.

Sunday, James drew criticism for saying that people who wanted him and the Heat to fail "have to wake up tomorrow and have the same life that they had before they woke up today ... I'm going to continue to live the way I want to live and continue to do the things that I want to do."

On Tuesday, James backed down from those statements and said they were misinterpreted.

"Basically I was saying at the end of the day this season is over and -- with all hatred -- everyone else has to move on with their lives, good or bad. I do too," James said.

"It wasn't saying I'm superior or better than anyone else, any man or woman on this planet, I'm not. I would never every look at myself bigger than anyone who watched our game. It may have come off wrong but that wasn't my intent."

Speaking after the Heat went through their exit interviews with coaches and management, James also said he felt he let his teammates down in the Finals. He averaged just 17.8 points per game in the series and played passively at times in the 4-2 series loss.

"I put a lot of pressure on myself not to let my teammates down, maybe to a fault at times," James said. "I didn't play up to my own standards. Did that cost us the Finals? I don't know. I'm not satisfied with my performance."

lol

Well, I'm just too sharp to digest that, even though I wasn't offended by it.

1. "People still have to deal with the reality of their personal problems after they come back to reality". This COULD be interpreted as him saying if your only thrill in life is hating him on, then when the thrill is gone, you're miserable again, faced with your problems. At the same time, ALL humans have personal problems, so what problems could he be referring to if not financial? That alone is not enough, though...

However, this is what sealed it...

2. "I'm going to continue to live the way I want to live and continue to do the things that I want to do."

How does that make him any different than anyone else? He's obviously suggesting that he has a freedom to make choices and do things that his haters do not have. He has no more rights than his "haters", so the only thing one can conclude is that Lebron was saying...

"Fuck you broke, miserable, motherfuckers. Kiss my million dollar ass. I'll be going on an expensive vacation within a few days while you're punching in your time cards, or using your foodstamp cards to purchase food at your local grocer"

Just sayin'.

He needs media training and a speech coach. Badly. when he speaks to the media, far too often its :smh::smh:

Go peep that commercial Jordan did in college during the NCAA tournament when he was in college... doesn't resemble the polished guy that got all the endorsements.

Yep. Mike came a long way but according to what I read he worked very hard at it. Lebron probably needs to do the same thing.

i took it as him saying, "If all u do is hate on me, go fuck yourself and your horribly bland, broke life" Need no apology, if it was me I would have used alot more colorful language. A couple of fucks, mother fuckers, bitches, fa99ot ass Skip Bayless, shit, and other words. I understand cheering for and against people, but what people are doing to this "kid" is crazy!!!

Shit, I barely remember Jordan talking at all when he played.:lol::lol: In his commercials it would be him smiling and some other character doing all the talking. His PR reps told him to just stfu!

He really should stay quiet and let his game do the talking. I never really thought there was nothing wrong with going from high school straight to the pros..I was wrong.

Lolololol needs media training.

He will always be peppered with questions, problem is he has his boys as his yes men and they sound like bgol cats and they tell him to tell everyone to kiss his rich ass and go fuck themselves b/c they think lebron is too big to fall and he's lebron.

problem with that line of thinking is the nba can make a new star they did in 06 when the turned wade into mr. untouchable they can elevate durant, elevate griffin...they can easily lower lebron especially since he no longer is the man, they'll make him scotty pippen and wade jordan and business will continue.

he needs to fire all his friends on payroll and hire some professionals who won't call him king or fill his ego, he needs ppl who will tell him he fucked up and too shut the fuck up. he pretty much needs an ari gold type and a strong pr staff even if that means having a pr rep sitting in on his interviews.

the media smells blood things won't get easier for lebron.

The problem with LeBron is he's 26 and his day to day interactions don't require him to step his game up. When Magic retired from basketball he was HORRIBLE. LeBron is way better than Magic but he needs to be just as serious about working on his image from the ground up. People expect athletes to be arrogant. They expect them to make stupid mistakes. The only problem is they're also waiting for them to make BIG mistakes (especially Black ones) to take them down a notch.

no need to clarify
just stop going for the attention and focus on the other shit. he's not a dumb man he knows the media game and how it works
and if he doesn't 8 years in he needs to find some new people to be around.

shit wasn't a big deal to me in the 1st place. he was salty that he lost, and the people who hate him are salty because he has a good life

i don't hate him but he sucked in the finals and choked again
that's fact
not opinion.

ALOTTA cats need this nowadays. The crap that comes outta these guys' mouths is amazing, but that's what happens when the people ya listen to most are ya boys. When your words can determine whether ya make MILLIONS of dollars or not, it's imperative that you not call out the people you depend on to buy ya tix, jerseys, and products you endorse. When ya in the public and someone has a tape rolling...SHUT THE FUCK UP and PLAY THE ROLL!!
MAKE THAT PAPER!

What also led me to the my conclusion is finally seeing the video of his post game. When he said that, dude looked rigid, and his tone sounded like someone very tense, yet emotionally broken.

In so many words, Lebron was torn up by what happened, and because he knew his haters were rejoicing, he couldn't resist using that opportunity to cut them down to their core. It worked, 'cause a lot of motherfuckers expressed being offended by what he said.

He didn't say it in the way he'd say it away from the cameras and the mics, because something about saying something in a round about way is different than saying it candidly. He ain't THAT stupid, lol.

This... if it's true that it's just his friends from HS (Maverick Carter, the irony) being his closest advisors :smh::smh:. It explains retarded shit like "the decision". Magic spoke on this in an SI article about athletes calling him to get business advice. The first thing he tells them is to get good people around you... professionals. Pookie and Ray Ray n' em can't be they guys running your show.

this nigga is such a bitch. i mean we all know what he meant to say, just say it and man up. i don't even blame him for saying it

He coulda said all that and I still wouldn't have had a problem with it.

Seems like it's the season for brothas to be saying stupid shit and then having to appologise, Tracey Morgan and now Lebron....
:smh:

I would have laughed, just like I did when I read what he said, because I knew what he meant. I just would have laughed harder because he actually had the balls to say it that way.

At the end of the day, Lebron is an athlete. I follow him because of his athletic ability, not because of his character. Pro athletes are some of the most self-absorbed, degenerate motherfuckers you'll ever meet...

...but none of that changes the fact that I enjoy watching sports.

Lebron is an ultra-spoiled athlete, who appears to be developmentally arrested, but I do not blame him. He's not TOO different from Michael Jackson, in a way. You can tell the people around Lebron realized YEARS before he made it pro that he had a great chance to make it as a pro. From there, you can bet everyone became dick-riding yes-men and yes-women. Everyone. Hell, he was there ticket out of the hood/to the top. Who wants to tell Lebron he is wrong, and risk being tossed from the inner circle? Years of that will warp your sense of right and wrong, and cause you to over inflate your self-importance.

Lebron is not alone, he just seems to be the most vocal. Jordan, for instance, knew how to keep his insanity away from mics and cameras.

Man, I hope that the media doesn't lead this kid to his psychologically demise.

it will happen if he takes himself to seriously.

don't trip off what people say or write. focus on the things that matter, not what somebody that has never met you has to say about you

I Did not have a problem with what he said in the first place. I actually thought it was about time he said FUCK YOU to all the haters. The level of hate on Lebron all season was not justified. It was as if dude was accused of rape, killed dogs, involve in fights with teammates, or showing blatant disrespect to others.

Shit he still lets others do the talking.

That's one of the reasons people thought he was a nice guy.

Nah man it's not that!
He's just not charismatic, so he can't get away with that arrogant shit, especially when he doesn't deliver at the end of the day!!!
If he won, he wouldn't have made the original comments in the first place, he's just feeling salty 'cos he knows he fucked up and rather than look to self he's lashing out!!

He was asked a specific question about his haters and for the first time all season he basically said they can fuck off and get a life. Who the hell is charismatic after a defeat even if they played well.

i have no idea how he was able to fake it for so long before he went to miami. :smh:

What Lebron said cut deep. Like they say a hit dog will holler. There is a huge difference between criticism and hatred. Lebron's comments destroyed a lot of people because he hit them with a dose of reality. It is no secret that most haters are miserable people who want nothing other then to have everyone else miserable.
