LAWS OF SPIRITUAL AND FINANCIAL PROSPERITY

1: an obstacle becomes an obstacle when there is no way to surmount it.

There can never be an obstacle in your way that you are not willing to either move or go around. In life, we are judged by not only our successes but our failures as well. How one looks and deals with their adversity is only a testimony of their courage and tenacity. The question than becomes, what are you willing to do and what are you willing to overcome to accomplish your goal?

2: what good is a proverb not adhered to?

There are three types of people in this world, the people that wish to do, the people that want to do, and the people that do. Some of us waste so much time trying to understand and prepare based on principles and proverbs that we never truly believe in because we have failed to allow that seed of motivation to harvest within our souls from what we have learned from it. We fail to act even when we have all of the necessary tools to do so. If you believe in a principle or proverb, follow through. The act of acting is a manifestation of your belief. Failing to act is a manifestation of your disbelief.

3: if your house is burning down, get out!

When our objectives are not being met and our endeavors become fruitless. Abandon those ideas or methods of doing things that bring you the same negative or adverse results. As I write I am reminded of the psychological experiment done on a canine called Pavlov’s dog. Some of us expect to see change coming a mile away and if they cannot see it, far off in the horizon before it comes than they do not believe it. They will salivate and salivate even when change has failed to knock on their door. Get out, make change before change passes you by, and burn the house down with you still in it.

4: If time is of the essence, use it wisely.

A third of our lives is consumed in slumber; in a state of unconsciousness. This is the third of ones’ lifetime that they are of no use to themselves or society at large. Another third of our lives is spent working or pretending to work. More times than not we are working for someone else affording others the opportunity to benefit from our talents. That leaves only a third of our short lives on this earth for ourselves. What will you do with that third, will it be a life of service and dedication to others or will it be to enrich the lives of those in whom you love with all your heart? Time cannot be held on to like a newborn baby, it must be used the moment it arrives in the presence of your existence. Use it as if the next moment will be your last and the fruits of life will give you a better yield on your investment than if you did not.

5: a mans’ worst enemy is himself.

The hardest thing for a man to do is to take and receive correction and instruction. It is this very fact that has hindered many a men from accomplishing their goals. In life we always need somebody. Dependence on each other is in our nature. Not yielding to that fact could be detrimental to our success. Giving in to your own vanity is a sure way to kill your dreams. Allow the feminine side of yourself to shine through at times.

6: why count the tears if they do not cease?

Never worry about things beyond your control. Focus on the things you can. Pain is as common as the common cold but after the tears, the pain will more than likely still be there. Spend the time you would have spent soaking in your pain on trying to eradicate it and you will find that the pain will ease and it will shorten in duration. Stay focused even in times of great distress. Countries have been conquered in times of great pain. Go conquer your country!

7: a friendship has no more value than the friend himself does.

Be careful when making enemies, be more careful in choosing friends. You can know a friend or foe by their actions. That is the only yardstick you have. Do not listen to what they say, watch what they do. Never place your faith in a friend with a bad track record. If they have let you down before it is likely, they will let you down again. Trusting in friendships with all your heart will usually leave you in despair and disappointed. In some cases, it can even lead to a loss that could never be regained. Choose wisely my friend, choose wisely.

8: time spent in guilt is time spent in vain.

How often do we feel so sorry for what we have done or what we did not do that it consumes our every passing moment? Often times we could have corrected the situation if we would have gotten off the couch and acted immediately. Guilt will only sedate the conscious mind. The reality is still there, you just become numb to it. Pick yourself up and understand that guilt will solve none of your problems. What is done is done. Put the wind behind your back and keep it moving.

9: a decision made should be a decision acted upon.

When you have gotten to the point in your mental process that you have decided to do a thing you should immediately set out to the task of acting on that which you have decided. A lot of missed opportunities were a result of an individual’s failure to act at the appropriate time. It is the fourth quarter with two seconds left and the championship is on the line. You do not have much time to play ring around the roses with your thought process. Stick to your choices and let destiny do the rest.

10: there is no truth in an honest man.

In all honesty, there is a little dishonesty in all of us. It is in our nature to try to get over to some extent. The laws of self-preservation have planted this seed from your inception. The man that denies this is perpetrating a serious fraud. We all have character flaws and are less than perfect. Those who understand this fact are usually honest about it. Those that deny themselves the pleasure of displaying their weaknesses is hiding more than that. Respect the man that says he is a work in progress rather than a finished product.

11: evil to one is evil to all.

This is self explanatory, malicious people are malicious people. There not just malicious to those that have offended them, there malicious to all they meet. Evil is like a cancer, once it is in the system it takes over by feeding on other cells and becoming bigger until there is nothing left in the body but the cancer. The worst in humankind is much the same way, they will feed off their own hate and malice until there is no good left in them.

12: a foreign enemy is better than an intimate friend.

The best thing about an enemy is that you know they’re an enemy. They never come in disguise or try to pretend that they are anything but what they are, an enemy. Oftentimes an enemy is your best friend because they know how to keep their distance. It is the friend that comes in sheep’s clothing. You never know when a friend will betray you until they have committed the dastardly act. It is far too late then. We can only hope and pray that the betrayal has not cost you life and limb. If you get away clean remember the lesson and disassociate yourself from that so-called friend. Not heeding to my counsel on this matter could cost you more than a broken friendship the next time.

13: a diamond is only worth the purpose it will serve.

How often do we adorn ourselves with priceless diamonds and things that do nothing for our inner self? A diamond can be anything that you value but serves you no real purpose. A diamond sitting on your finger for show does nothing for the man in need of laser eye surgery. Perhaps his doctor could use it to cut the defect in his eye so precisely as to insure his sight. Than and only than has the diamond becomes a priceless gem. Take your diamonds off your fingers and your hearts and use them to help humanity. Perhaps there is a hidden gem hidden behind the tablet of your heart that if shared with the world could produce harmony in it.

14: appreciate the one thing that will prove to be your last and greatest asset.

Financial wealth is a beautiful thing, spiritual wealth is even better. We must value those things that will prove to bring the greatest joy in our lives and the lives of others. On our deathbeds, it is not money that will prove to be our greatest assets but rather our most cherished loved ones by our side in our time of need. It will not be the cars, houses, women, or any of those things that we cannot take with us but rather those non-tangible items that enriches the soul and give us peace in our darkest hour. Why not appreciate those things now rather than later. In doing so you will receive the love and concern that you so desperately crave in that hour today instead of tomorrow.

15: focus on the positive side of your adversities.

There is always a lesson to be learned in our suffering and adverse moments in life. Life is a series of successive successes and failures. It is our trials of tribulations that help us to limit our future adversities. It is up to you to see the cup as half-empty or half full. The action that you take or fail to take during this period will determine your success or failure.

16: love is adopted by the loved.

It is very difficult to love someone when you have not been shown love. If you have not been shown love you must force yourself to be open to receiving it. Once received you will have the necessary tools you need to begin to show others love. Loving people love to help and aid other loving people. Put a little love in your heart and you will open the door to greatness.

17: the second lie can be forgiven but the first cannot.

A liar is a liar no matter how you try to rationalize their actions. There is no limit to how far a liar will go to protect him or herself from being found out. This should make the recipient of that lie very afraid because nine times out of ten you will be the victim in more ways than one. If there is no first lie, you have no need to worry about the second one.

18: darkness only occurs when ones’ eyes are closed.

Gullible people are usually the easiest to pull the wool over their eyes. They are so accepting and believing in the good of mankind. When we look at the world with one set of lenses, we tend to forget that others are using lenses far more superior than the ones’ we are using. While you are gazing at the clouds, they are gazing at the universe. Open your mind for the possibility that you could be deceived and you will be keenly aware of the things that are being said to you.

19: the moment of the present is the asset of the future.

The next minute or hour is certainly not promised to you, those that make it in life are those that seize the moment of the now. They realize dreams come a dime a dozen and if they do not act someone could be dreaming their dream and acting on it. I have lost many a millions in lost dreams because someone was thinking exactly what I was thinking and decided to act. Dreams and ideas are not as original as people think they are.

20: justice is poor to the man of little understanding.

The underprivileged and uneducated have never had an advocate. Justice is definitely blind. It sees no color other than the color of green. Do not expect the goodwill of humanity to give you the relief you feel you so desperately deserve. The man of understanding knows that justice comes only after it is paid for. Set a little aside for justice.

21: common terms can only be met by common minds.

Do not expect genius and ingenuity from mundane common folk. Those that think outside the box are those who believe their destinies lye in thinking independently of the pack. Do not expect common folk to understand a new paradigm type of thinking. Look only to other innovators for support.

22: tools without a task are futile.

Having an objective and doing nothing is worst than not having one at all. Use the resources that are made readily available to you. Always remember, there are others who will gladly use them.

23: an empty box can produce nothing lying there.

Stop being a consumer and start being a producer. There is nothing more attractive than success. Focus on filling the box instead of focusing on the box itself. To accomplish you have to be active in your mission to achieve. Waiting for a hope and a prayer to make your dreams a reality will leave you exhausted from waiting.

24: I can only be heard if only you would listen.

A lot of times, we miss opportunities because we fail to listen to the other person. We hear them but we failed to listen. Most of life’s’ opportunities are in the hands of other people just waiting to share their tools of prosperity with you. Be slow to speak and quick to listen.

25: my main objective is to make one.

Before you can begin to go forward with a course of action, make sure your objectives are clear and concise.

26: life is only free to the infidel.

There is no such thing as a free ride. You have to work hard for everything you get in life. Plan to dedicate yourself to making your goals happen by putting in a little effort and sweat.

27: If your mind is lost, go find it.

It is never too late to learn. The more society evolves, the more there is a need for one to increase their academic knowledge. The knowledge that we get from our social experiences and hands on work experiences are invaluable as well. All learning should be embraced for the betterment of self and society.

28: the bravest wolf is usually the weakest one.

Have no fear of those that make a show of their strength. The strong do not feel compelled to enforce their wishes on others using mentally and physically abusive tactics.

29: fear provokes a man to kill.

The best way to have a man take up arms against you is to make him afraid or box him in a corner. It is one of the oldest reasons in the world to put someone on the offensive. Confrontation never achieves the desired affect of winning someone over. Long life will certainly be yours if this one thing is adhered to.

30: what I deserve may not be what I receive and what I receive may not be what I deserve.

Sometimes life is unfair in that the loser is oftentimes the winner and vice versa. If you know you have not worked for fruitful results than it is obvious you did not deserve so be prepared for receiving the shaft when you least expect it.

31: if your profit was little, your labor was few.

The majority of the time you will only get what your hand calls for. Do not expect a million dollars worth of profit for a hundred dollars worth of work.

32: one mans’ vomit is another mans meal.

What one may see as garbage another may see as a full course meal. Be careful of the ideas and useful information you throw away by ignoring them or refusing to use them because you believe they are either beneath your thought process or too simple to work.

33: only the infidel rejects punishment.

Every good citizen respects the laws of the land. In obeying the laws of the land, you are in effect obeying God. When you transgress against the laws of man or God, you must expect punishment. Know that which you get involved with and the penalties before you decide such a course of action. Punishment should be embraced if you are man or woman enough to transgress. Society hates transgressors. It is the surest way not to find favor in the masses.

34: rebelling against the truth is of no consequence.

The truth is as bright as a summer’s day. Never try to run or hide from it. Embracing the truth allows one to move forward with confidence. Accept the truth and add it into your equation, if you do you will get a probable outcome.

35: a thorn in your side is usually a warning sign.

When there is something that causes you to act in a manner inconsistent with achieving the desired effect remove it from the equation.

36: contempt is often the product of jealousy.

There is nothing like success to make people envy you and despise you. Understanding this, one should always place themselves in company of like-minded people. Surround yourself around those who have success patterns similar to you.

37: music is only as good as the instrument.

Arm yourselves with the necessary tools to achieve your goals. Do not go to business school to learn how to be a cook. Make life’s’ tools applicable to your ultimate endeavors.

38: a person always means what they say.

No one says anything they really do not mean. Whether in jest or regular conversation, everything one says should be taken for face value.

39: never look at the poor with contempt, they out number you.

As long as you live in a capitalistic society there will always be poverty and there will always be a division of classes; whether implied or overt. Win the hearts of the poor and you have a good chance at maintaining your success.

40: If you have been to the mountaintop, give someone your tools so they can climb it to.

The public loves nothing more than someone helping another. Help someone reach the level that you are at and you can rest assured the public will love you for it and support you even more.

41: trying to be anything you want to be will take time from you being what you can be.

Not all of us are meant to be scientist, know your limitations and focus on the things you do best. There is only room for one father in a household equally there is but so much room for the world to focus on the same things. Our differences are what make the world go around. Try to be what you believe you have the mental aptitude to be.

42: washing the problem away will not erase it completely.

Unless you do something about the problem, it will never go away. Sweeping it under the rug or ignoring it, or even putting patchwork on it will do nothing but make the problem worst. Solve the problem the moment it arises.

43: give someone your money and they will spend it.

The worst thing you can do is loan money or give it away. It does nothing for the individual’s soul. Make a man work for everything that he gets and he will respect you for it. Lend a friend money and expect it back and you have lost a friend. Keep money matters and friendship separate issues.

44: change is the only thing that does not change.

Do not expect time to be on your side. Life will go on with or without you. It is best to move right along with change than to let change past you by. Seize the moment.

45: persuasion is an art of deception.

In order to convince someone to take a course of action you have to make him or her feel like they are as important as you are and that they will benefit from listening to you. Make someone feel important and you will generally win him or her over. The art of persuasion is making others feel special.

46: nothing is as cold as it looks.

There is a little warmness in everyone, it is up to you to break the ice and find the glimmer of sunshine in every man. Antagonizing an individual will not win them over.

47: god is the only answer to the final question.

Stop worrying about what is on the other side and start worrying about what is on this side. Life has enough problems of its own to worry about rather than worrying about what is after you die. You will not have time to worry because the problems on this side will be coupled with the problems of the other side and you will be too busy worrying about worrying to worry at all.

48: I can only believe what the eyes of my mind see.

Never ignore what is right in front of your face. People will only see what their minds are willing to accept.

49: a question mark indicates an unanswered question.

A question mark always indicates something left undone or something incomplete. It only becomes complete when the question has been answered.

50: people do, as they are told when they cannot think for themselves.
We were given a mind apart from others for a reason. God made us to think independently of others. Use it to build and find your own way. Let no man deter you from thinking for yourself.

51: a fish out of water will eventually die.

Know your element. Do not try to work outside of the parameters that are in place by certain non-changeable laws.

52: knowing who your enemy is half the battle.

Do your homework and investigate the person with whom you are doing business with or about to do business with. In all things, study your terrain.

53: act like a savage and you will be treated like one.

No one likes an animal. People generally shy away from abrasive people.

54: a blank piece of paper has a lot to say.

Laziness has rewards, nothing at all. Life respects doers.

55: be afraid of a thinking man, especially if he is thinking against you.

Smart people should be watched carefully when they are working against you. Understand that there is room for you to be duped. In doing so you will prepare yourself for it and in effect minimize the damage.

56: the art of winning a war is not waging one at all.

Conflict will always have casualties, everyone loses. The diplomatic approach is always the best approach.

57: never praise a man for his mistakes, he will think you insincere.

The last thing a man wants to hear when he knows he has fumbled is that there is greatness in his doing so. Mankind hates to be patronized.

58: a sheep in wolves clothing is harmless if you recognize he is a sheep.

The bark is always worse than the bite in the eyes of man. The loudest mouth wins or dominates in this male driven society. Look past the bark and realize that every dog has teeth, yours is just as sharp.

59: drinking when you are hungry will never curb your appetite.

Never substitute one thing on the opposite side of the spectrum for the other if it is no benefit to solving the problem at hand.

60: walk in my footsteps but do not follow me.

It is a good thing to try to model ones’ self after a successful person, it is another thing altogether to try an emulate their every move. Their steps to success may mean your failure if you try to follow it to the letter.

61: anything you form a mental picture of is real.

Whatever it is your mind can dream is quite attainable. No matter how absurd try it anyway, in doing so you just may stumble across the next big thing. It is the spark that lights the fire.

62: never work for a dishonest man, you will receive dishonest wages.

Do not expect dishonest people to treat you fairly. They will not so do not give them an once of your trust or entertain doing business with them.

63: a word spoken softly is almost never heard.

You have to be vocal for that which you want. Never let opportunity pass you by because you fail to speak up and or rise to the occasion. Your nature demands that you speak up for yourself because no one else will.

64: Do not try to fix something that is not broken.

Trying to find a problem where there is none will eventually earn you a problem.

65: what good is fame in the grave?

Either you can seek to bask in the spotlight or you can focus on achieving the goal at hand.

66: learning has meaning when there is purpose.

Knowledge is the basic foundation of our existence; it is the key that unlocks the human potential more and more each day. Only when we pursue the goal of learning more about ourselves do we achieve peace and harmony with others.

67: destiny becomes destiny when you reach your goal.

There are no chosen people, only the choosing people. The pot of gold at the end of the rainbow can only be yours for the taking when you go out and do. In doing you create a destiny instead of waiting for destiny to take you to your destination.

68: eternity waits for no one.

69: sometimes we are fortunate to be unfortunate.

There is a time when our bad luck so to speak is good luck in disguise. Things sometimes turn out for the best even when we think they are not.

70: focus on tomorrow and today will sneak right pass you.

There is nothing as important as the now, for it is the now that is the only thing that counts. Tomorrow is not promised. Do all you can today and let tomorrow take care of itself?

71: feeling sorry for yourself is the beginning of depression.

There is nothing to feel sorry for, you were created in Gods image. Life is always worth living because you were not a mistake.

72: if you walk a mile for fifty cents, you will kill for a dollar.

Have limitations as to what you will do for money. We all pay a price for our souls.

73: When you salt your food, you escape reality.

Never flavor a lie with a dash of truth because you will not see clearly enough to make the right decision.

74: You WON'T do it tomorrow if tomorrow never gets here.

Procrastination has killed more dreams than a bottle of your cheapest vodka.

75: teach a man to be independent and he will hate you for it.

Men are generally lazy. A man that will do anything to shirk work. Reminding him that he has to work for what he gets in life will do nothing but piss him off.

76: let no one turn off the lights on you, it may be your forever darkness.

77: what good is a piece of the pie if your piece is rotten?

Having something is not the same as having something that has value. Endeavor to obtain things of value.

78: a rattrap is the only way to catch a rat.

79: knowing when to be quiet is of the greatest importance.

80: one mistake is a disaster if it goes unchecked.

Make it your business to correct a problem the moment the problem arises. If not it will form into a malignant tumor.

81: one who professes intellectualism is usually hiding something.

Those who think they know it all usually lack common sense. They are so far removed from the real world that they miss out.

82: a formal dinner is usually a boring one.

83: complex problems have simple solutions.

Stop looking for the theoretical way to solve a problem all the time. Sometimes the problem can be solved by stepping outside of the box.

84: adding to a problem multiplies into catastrophe.

85: when countries citizens are in disharmony with one another wage war, it brings them together.

A countries citizen will always bond over a common enemy. People tend to forget about the many differences when they are fighting a common enemy.

86: policies for the people never apply to those making those policies.

Those that create laws make laws to keep the masses oppressed. The ruling class will never make a law that will hinder their right to rule over you, whether overtly or not.

Your experiences are no good if you fail to learn something from them.

87: words are never derogatory unless you personify them to be so.

88: a role model is someone to watch out for.

89: a master that teaches his servants to be master over others deserves to be enslaved.

Never teach someone everything you know, eventually they will feel they have no need for you.

90: A general without soldiers is not a good leader.

You know someone by the people behind them. A good leader will have followers because they will cling to his every word.

91: Never look at something once, you may miss something.

92: Always drink alone; men have been known to tell many secrets while intoxicated.

93. Never sleep pass daybreak lest someone else wakes you up.

Be the first to start your day and you will not have to worry about someone getting a head start on you.

94: Two sides to every coin is a compromise.

95: If a mountain is too hard to climb, go around it.

96: You can only receive help from someone willing to help you.

Looking for help in the wrong places will yield little to no results.

97: Not making eye contact is a sign of deception, staring is rude.

98: The man in power receives respect because of his authority.

99: Two peanuts is an insult to a hungry man.

100: There is no past because it does not count.

101: A person without clothing is unclothed but dressed in nudity.

102: A minute to spare s a minute wasted.

103: Counting your problems is the same as not solving them.

104: A modest question deserves a modest reply.

105: Never provoke the unprovoked.

106: It is better to have one dinner than two desserts.

107: An apprentice is never as good as his teacher.

108: A genuine friend is oftentimes your best enemy.

109: You are only fortunate once.

110:A friend that talks too much is not to be trusted.

111; Do not race death, you will lose every time.

112: Never feel comfortable around a saint.

113: Anyone that tells the truth all the time lies always.

114: The devils workshop is always open.

115: A man can only be fooled once, all else is stupidity.

116: You only fail when you plan to.

117: If you sneak around a problem, it finds you first.

118; I am never angry with a drunk for his last drink; it is his first that makes me angry.

119: People generally say what people want to hear.

120: Only farmers’ farm.

121: I can only answer the question that I asked.

122: There is no such thing as a favor.

123: killing two birds with one stone is almost impossible.

124: Never talk in the company of a parrot; he may repeat what you said.

125: A black lie is the same as a white one when the lights are turned off.

126: It is very hard to escape poverty when you are extremely wealthy.

127: Seeing is believing only when you are blind.

128: Never desecrate a mans integrity, he will do anything to regain it back.

129: Listen to what people in silence are saying.

130: Half of a story is no story at all.

131: A bad leader is only a good leader in training.

132: Make a conscious decision to think about thinking.

#2. Dammit where is Colin?! LOL

Wow, this much good stuff and no one else is bumpin it??

Anyway, I have a question about #74: should it say "You WON'T do it tomorrow if tomorrow never gets here."

Right now it says "74: You WILL do it tomorrow if tomorrow never gets here."
