i notice theres alot of latino men are cool with black people but they dont often date black women...why?

i see more latinas with black men than latinos with sistas...do u have any insight on that?

i also notice mexican men arent very friendly...unless they know u can speak spanish....why?

You need to come to the Midwest I can't go anywhere without a Latino giving me the eye. I get a kick out of them trying to pass as Chinese in the Chinese restaurant. The only way I know they aren't Chinese is because of how horny they act always trying to make eye contact all the while smiling licking their lips. Chinese don't do that!!!

As long as they don't try to give me a burrito in place of my egg roll we'll stay cool

I hate to use the word "swag," but, in my opinion, Latino men don't seem to have any "swag." Now, I've met some very smart, intellectual Latino men with GREAT personalities, but only flirted with them...from my standpoint, I just thought that they preferred white women because, if they're not with one of their own, I've noticed they are generally dating white women...

When I was living in NYC, when I was mistaken for a Dominican, there would be a couple of cats in Washington Heights checking for me

I'll say it, most don't. They've been taught not to by their parents/family. I do, I more attracted to darker women from tan to dark. My current girl is the same chocolate complexion as Bria Myles and she's Dominican. My father has always taught me NOT to sleep on beauty because of skin color.

Maybe their are many sistas who do not want to date latinos? Outside of NYC/NJ/PA/CT, most latinos are Mexicans or look like them (papa heads). Most are pretty short (under 5'9) and like someone said don't have that "swag". It's more a physical thing I believe. Sistas need to open their eyes that latinos come in many shapes and sizes other then the images of Thug Nasty 305. Many of us have African blood, especially in the Caribbean (Dominican, Panamanian, Cuban, etc...), and like someone said could be mistaken for African American. You probably don't notice it, but we may be dating a sista and you're mistaking it for another African American couple. Show up at a Dominican club in NYC see if you don't get love. Dance some bachata or merengue, you'll be surprised how much we have in common.

Well, it's cause of the fam. Especially if our mom's don't know much English we tend to date women who know Spanish. I think it's more a communication/cultural thing than an outright un-attraction to Black women.

I met most of the latino guys I know in college.. most of the ones I met in the hometown were Mexican and/or PR (one not to be confused with the other) lol .. anywho some of the ones I met in college were overly "machismo" and others were effeminate ..

some of the ones who seemed manly were later seen taking flix in their bathroom mirror with an unbutton vest (hilarity!!!)

Apophis I can't agree with that at all that black men are the only ones to see our beauty. That's a bit of a mind game that the dominate culture likes to play. First, "our" beauty is quite diverse, but if you want to do the full lips, shapely ass, and brown skin those traits are widely and openly admired IN OTHER WOMEN- because its more socially acceptable to do so out in the open. Are black women victims of negative stigmatizing -YES, but its not about a lack of appreciable beauty. I've dated inter-ethnically many times- even an East Indian man and East Indians are notoriously colorist as has been discussed before. Met his momma and everything.

Stigmas exist and they are an INITIAL barrier but need not have the final say so on who gets picked and who doesn't.

Most of the black women I know find few men of other ethnicities attractive and often chose very decisively not to date non-black men.

I like shorter, slim dudes so latino men that fit that description are attractive to me. Never had a problem dating one that I found attractive. Again, that may be a regional difference. I grew up in a city with a lot of Puerto Ricans.

I got a serious question for the black women who do not find latino men attractive. Basically can you all tell the difference between a latino and a black dude that maybe biracial, creole or light skinned and/or does that non-attraction extend to them too? I ask this because this because I watched my cousin get shot the ground by some black chicks who thought he was Mexican and even after telling them he was black they still weren't having it. Now for a minute I got pissed because was thinking "Well damn you've lived in New Orleans all of your life and you can't tell you've never seen a black person that looks like that, but if you ain't attracted to somebody you just ain't.

Flip side I heard an older black woman remark "that black people can naturally tell their own from others."

I just wanted to hear you all's thoughts.
