Laila Ali's Response to Huffington Post Black Voices Reaction

i dont understand how hard it is to say "BLACK LIVES ATTER" and saying it doesnt mean other lives dont matter , doesnt mean we want to kill all white people , doesnt mean we want the cops to shoot white people only , doesnt mean we want to get away with committing crime .. it just buggles the mind ,if ure afraid to defend the honor of BLM & what it stands for ,that means ure afraid of what racist white folks will say. cos honest and truthful white people get what it means and some actually speak on it. so whats the excuse of black folks playing dumb and who cant see what B:LM means and stands for?

She's just a coon, plainly and simply.

She worried about upsetting her sponsors... that's how much BLM means to her.

Why do people keep saying just because Kap is a millionaire, racism doesn't affect him.....really.

Then in the next breath, she said she doesn't speak up that much, because she doesn't want to alienate her non-black fans :hmm:

And then next, she goes to say that "Black people can't expect other folks to fix our problems and need fix ourselves",even though all of our problem is because of white people.

Nobody isn't saying we should get rid of personal responsibility but to act like our problem isn't because of white supremacy is ridiculous.

Every time,we as a people try to do shit on our own, white folks go into our communities and fuck it up.Just look at what they did in Tulsa,Wilmington and other black communities back in the day,but somehow we need to fix ourselves.

Koreans and Arabs can come into this country barely speaking English and get a small business loans, but black people who actually lives in this country can't.....but hey according to her,we need to fix ourselves.

She's the daughter of one nof the most iconic figures in our community saying this bullshit... :smh:

I'm glad she pointed out that Muhammad Ali's activism was literally a tiny period of his life. Most people inflate that shit and don't know HER FATHER beyond the hero complex they created for him.

If the CEO of AT&T can easily say it why can't she? :dunno:

Depends on her sponsor deals.... how much money will she lose by saying blm.. because don't ever be fooled it's always about the money

For me I truly don't have a problem with these celebrities being careful how they choose their words as it applies to their ability to provide for their families. I don't see any of us or most of us pulling up on our jobs everyday with BLM t shirts on or leading protests in front of our places of employment either. That's not my issue, my issue is when in the light of their unwillingness to support the movement they are so quick to throw in all lives matter though. That's what pissed me off about LeBron, Laila, and any other black celebrity who straddles the fence to that magnitude. I don't care what you've done to listen the movement with that phrase the gates a whole lot of Good Will in my opinion. It's truly a slap in the face to black people everywhere.

You can stop right there. No one is going to their jobs hollerin Black Lives matter at all. We may go to some event after work, post something on our social media that only our friends and family view, and shit like that but most are not putting anything in jeopardy at all. I dont know why people even look to celebs to be doing shit beyond lending support to something or someone they consider doing the right thing. At the most i expect them to let their activism reflect in their work. The celebs people may applaud for "taking a stand" most of the time dont reflect it in their actual work. This means tbey can placate the masses just by saying the right buzz words or showing up to the right event , meanwhile their body of work is against their statement. Laila has always carried herself well. I don't judge her off some instant Blackness litmus test.

When you have white men pointing guns at federal agents and nothing happens to them, but a black man wanting some help, because his car is fucked up got shot by the police it's a problem.

You had a fucking terrorist shoot at cops in NY and was taking alive for chrissake and these All Lives Matter people just ignore all that shit....

Hell, not only do they be on this All Lives Matter nonsense, they always try to make it even, whenever one of us says fuck it and shoots a cop by saying "Two wrongs don't make a right".

She didn't even have to say Black Lives Matter, all she had to say is....

"Over the past century, decades, years disturbing videos footage has come foward showing black people being shot and killed by police officers under the most questionable of circumstances. As a black person I find these videos to be troubling and will do my part to help towards a swift resolution."

All she had to say was what everyone with sense already knows: that black people are getting shot by the cops for reasons that can only be deduced to them being black and that needs to stop.

You don't have to join ANYTHING to say that.

latest

But as we all know, common sense is so rare it should be a fucking super power.

*two cents *

why is this so hard to do?^^^^^^^
to me , when u begin to make excuses for and give ammo to people who really intend to harm black people ,in my eyes U HAVE SIDED WITH THE ENEMY!!..its one thing to want to tamper the tensions down but its another thing when u dishonestly act ignorant ,thereby giving the enemy more ammo in the desire to destroy blacklives by usiing ur words against our progress then i cant fuck with u ..s'why i cant fuck with lil' Wayne no more!, and thats a bruh i used to ride for..that interview with sharpe just hurt!! ,,like u are givin the enemy of our people an escape route to further their agenda becos u gonna be used as the face of the "black opposition" that fox news likes to trot out whenever they want "diverse viewpoint from the negro community" knowing fully well they dont seek "diverse views " for the sake of helping but for the sake of hiding their intension to destroy black lives.. maaann!! its infuriating

Stfu Laila

...your father is an ICON because he spoke the truth! Not because he was politically correct

an excuse by any other name smells as foul

damn she went full All lives matter with it....sad, just sad. While I understand her viewpoint about money and loving all people...

but man we are the ones being murdered in the streets from 8yrs old, up through 80yrs old ALL BY FUCKING POLICE, state to state, city to city. We are not safe in any tax bracket

the ethnicity of the murderous cops does NOT matter, Black folks, white folks, shit we are even getting murdered by Asians and Mexicans now. They kill us indiscriminately, and then demand that we respect them and PAY them for life.

Man, just speak to the problems and stop playing both sides all the time, or just sell wellness and shut the fuck up.

Cam Newton is not built for this shit--let him breathe, and obviously she is NOT built for this shit either.

She is wealthy, living in a capitalistic world and she sure as hell aint trying to fuck that up for some social media concerns.
