Lady write reviews about shopping at Miz Scarletts in Atl, owner gets in her feelings...

Wow :smh:

"Uppity ******* ass"

lol I'm sorry but huh.

Black people cant have legitimate complaints about a business without being uppity. Black people aren't suppose to have standards or expect good service and if you get good service you should be thankful to the business for extending such service. Blacks have no right to complain about anything if they do just call the police. Black people are suppose to put up with anything and be glad anyone put up with them at all.

That's what I read between the lines of that reply. She obviously a racist but tell me this isn't the subconscious thoughts of many whether it manifest itself this vulgar or not.

Am I right or wrong? :hmm:

‘Filthy n—er’: Atlanta sales clerk drags Black mom about prom dress

A mom in Atlanta purchased her daughter’s prom dress at a popular boutique in the city’s tony Buckhead district.

Prom arguably is a high schooler’s most fashionable night. It’s the Oscars of high school formals. Unfortunately, for an Atlanta teen, one memory to add to the eventful experience is the shadedehumanizing treatment her mom received from the owner sales clerk at Miz Scarletts on Peachtree Road. The shop is touted as having “an expansive 2-story showroom with a vast array of wedding, prom, gala and pageant gowns for all ages.”

The Facebook feud started when the dissatisfied mom commented online about her shopping experience and tagged the NAACP Atlanta Branch’s social media account.

“I purchased a dress for my daughter’s prom from Miz Scarletts on Peachtree. My experience was not good so I gave a review. Please read what the owner Susan Smithson had to say about black people in her establishment,” the mom/customer writes.

Susan Smithson didn’t take to kindly to her comments. She asserts on Facebook, “Maybe because U stole it. I am calling Atlanta Police.”

Coretta Leggz White responds, “I have my receipt. Call them.”

Susan Smithson writes back, “I will u filthy ni**er. … MizScarletts is a white owned business for whites only take your uppity ni**er a$$ elsewehere.”

“11alive news crew went out to visit Susan of Miz Scarletts and she stated that an ex employee is behind this account that is referring to blacks as *******. She states that he is trying to destroy her. I’m not sure how true this is but I thought I would let everyone know. I still stand by what I said about my experience with them. I was not happy and do not recommend anyone purchase from them,” says mom who goes by the name Coretta Leggz White on Facebook.

This seemed fake to me, but her facebook page has been taken down and comments on her youtube channel said that her store number no longer accepts calls. I guess she got lit up. Even though I've seen it before, I still can't believe business owners would be stupid enough to respond to customers like that. Social media is a great tool, as long as innocents don't get targeted.

@Camille Even if it is fake, how would we know? And what are we to do? Take it as an idle remark?

Nawl. Shitlist!
Fuck her, her business, and fuck any & everybody that work(ed) there!

Amazing that we still feel the need to patronize our enemies...But, no kid wants their prom dress from Ms Tilda round the way..?

This was on the news last week.

Black dude speaking for the company this was fake but people believed it because it was on social media.

The Yelp reviews on the business aren't favorable, stating that the staff is rude and unprofessional, and that's dating back three or four years, so I can believe this woman's story.

Well the reason it struck me as not genuine is because she is a business owner but doesn't have an picture/avatar of herself or her business, which is odd these days. Also she is in Atlanta, Black Mecca for many, and she doesn't cater to black people? A few posts up someone said the owner stated it is an employee targeting her, which may or may not be true also. It's just hard to say one way or another. Like in the other thread about the barber who doesn't cut black people's hair, business owners will say and do the most outlandishly racist things. I just can't believe they'd do it in Atlanta like that. That said, I have no problem with coming for people on social media, as long as they actually committed whatever infraction they are being accused of committing. It's not good enough to bash her simply because she is white regardless of whether she is guilty or not. Publicity like this can lose her her livelihood.

Off topic but...
Are we supposed to get alerts if someone @'s our name? This has happened a couple of times and I only knew because I revisited the thread.
