You sound like my boyfriend...I wanted to get a hair cut to get rid of the chemicals back in the day but I don't have an excuse to now...

i've always had long hair and i did some renegade stuff and cut my hair freshman year of college...im talkin bout bottom of the bra strap to shaved in the back cropped at the top...hahahaha

everyone was mad but ehhh

i will say this...its harder to keep up than longer hair, especially if ur hair grows quickly....yeah i had a lot of hat days n braids lol

but yeah i cut my hair like every summer now then let it grow out during the year then cut then grow...u get the point


my ex was very mad that i cut my hair, he went thru the whole "u know how many girl pay to get that...blah blah" but then he chilled out when he noticed it grew back faster than normal


but yeah..if u got the time, money and patience for the upkeep then do it..it ur hair and its gonna grow back

I hate that people place so much value on hair, its just hair, it'll grow back.... Usually it grows back quicker than it was before you cut it. It took courage to cut my hair short and I'm probably gonna do it again this summer.not really courage I just had to stop procrastinating. Now in the summers when I wear my hair curly I hate having it on my neck, it be wet and keeps my neck wet, lol. I wanted to try like that chick has in the pic, the sides braided with the nohawk kinda, my curls would look so HOT with that!!

the color is fierce. I wanna color my hair so bad but Im afraid to. I have some pics..hold up.

Hmmmm... not even if you put it in twists while it's wet and then take them out a day later?

I like all of the styles. The only thing about lifting your color: I have natural hair and when I brightened my hair it got weaker and damaged. It was a coppery color. Also, for those who want to cut their hair, I suggest doing it in the summer when it is a little more convenient to get out of the house and keep it up. I used to cut off several inches every year, but then I decided to do my own hair and it's harder with short hair. I personally think short hair is cuter and more funky than long. Men seem to love a sexy haircut too :)

Yeah, I lighten my hair also while its natural, you have to make sure the conditioner you use is for color treated hair. It really does make a HUGE difference. And also getting regular trims, that's something I slack off on...

Oh o.k. If I get color again, I'll switch conditioners. I trim my own ends now. I bought sewing scissors not regular ones

Guess what....I am getting this done. Remember those pictures I posted last week? I couldnt find no one to do that so I came across another style called Baby Curl twist. The hair is human hair kinky twists but braiders call it Baby Curl. Check out Khimit Kinks site. I go for a consultation on Friday w/ a shop here called Adaru their site is www.adaru.com
I am so excited. I promise I will post pics when I get it done. I will be ordering the hair on Friday after my consultation then getting it done sometime next week.:yes:
 
That was the only pic this salon had.

It is called Apres Tres Belle Salon and I found them on Craig's list.

I've gotten my hair done at Khamit Kinks before. I got silky dreads with them and they did an awesome job.

as in the style in which they braid your hair then wrap hair around the braid?

if so i want that soooooooooooooooooo bad just to see how i would look w/ locs cuz a lot of ppl are tellin me i should get them

even thou i just got a relaxer recently which was the first time since 2002 i think i might make the switch again.

but yeah if i am right, how long did it take, how much did it run you?
 
I can't seem to find any pics but next week before bf comes I am going to get my locs twisted or cornrowed up into a crown.
 
:smh: @ the fact that my hair color I had done in the fall is almost COMPLETELY faded now... I'll be making an appt. around the birthday to get it re-colored and curled again for the big day...

By the way, the hair color on the, erhm, "homegrown" picture posted was hot...gives me ideas...
