Ladies, how do you control your cravings for...

...things that you know are wrong/bad for you? This can be a sexual craving or even a craving for food or a nasty habit? I ask this because, LADIES (lol), I've been doing pretty good on my workout schedule (four days a week) and eating habits. With an upcoming menstruation cycle, though, I have these CRAZY cravings for salty foods and I gave in tonight to some fast food. On one hand, I feel like, I've been doing good for so long that maybe I can consider this a "reward." On the other hand, I'm thinking this is a setback. Any suggestions on what to do when I have these cravings and/or what you do when you have cravings for bad things?

I'm sorry I can't help I'm the true "indulger" of everything. I'm a true Aries and when we want something we go after it. Self control to me is unheard of:D

....but the summer is coming near so I do find myself staying away from fast food. I guess I'm still "indulgin" I just happen to want to be in shape more. That would probably be the true answer make yourself want that more and all else will fall into place.;)

MY OLDEST DAUGHTER IS AN ARIES
AND YOU ARE EXACTLY RIGHT
SHE SCARES ME.

Jo,
The best thing with food is practice environmental control. If you don't keep it in the house, you're much less likely to eat it...sometimes you might be motivated to get up in the middle of the night get dressed and go get some chips but most of the time you won't be. Fast food- if you're gonna cheat get a kids meal. Around that time, calorie needs increase slightly so it wont totally set you back but salt will contribute to your discomfort. Hot tea takes the edge off for some

Personally meditation has helped me a lot. I'm not a big food craver,... but I crave other things. Distraction can work (do not watch tv because there are too many food commercials) but its best eventually to develop a perspective of being able to just turn away from the illusion of instant satisfaction. Those are thoughts, not truths. Its not easy, sis :)

I have to be in a mindset. I started seeing my trainer again and it's like a light switch. I know eat 12-18 egg whites a day, 2 protein shakes, and 2 fish or chicken meals with no salt and veggies with no butter.

My problem is I have no balance. My best friend says I'm an "all or nothing" chick. So I do very well when I put my mind to it but if one little thing is off kilter, I'm like FUCK IT!!! I don't even bother.

I am really good most of the time. I always allow myself my little cravings those few pms days of the month. Shit, its the only time I ever get a lil chocolate or slice of pizza or some really good potato chips. once a month won't kill me. Also remember, its good to listen to your bodys cravings. If you crave something, it has something your body needs.

Thanks for the advice, ladies. I know I can't totally cut out these things that I enjoy, but the point about listening to it and not feeling so bad about it afterwards helps. I'm just so sick of how my body weight has fluctuated after the past few years, and ready to get back to that great size and energy that I had years ago...

As before, I'll keep you updated!
