The Jason Kidd era is over, and the Nets are also believed to be interested in trading Vince Carter, who has been a disappointment this season. However, Carter's contract may make it impossible for Rod Thorn to ship him out before Thursday's 3 p.m. trade deadline.
There have been rumors that the Nets have been trying to talk the Pacers into taking Carter in exchange for Jermaine O'Neal, but Indiana hasn't budged.
A report on ESPN.com last night also said that the Nets, Knicks and Heat have had discussions about a three-way deal that would send Carter to the Knicks, Eddy Curry to Miami and the expiring contracts of Jason Williams and Ricky Davis to New Jersey.
A Knick source familiar with the talks said the three-way deal has been discussed for awhile, but "I don't think it works."

Easier said than done. Also, rebuilding can take even more years. Atlanta is just getting out of the dungeon. You have to also get lucky in the draft, and the Celtic's got lucky because of the relationship between Ainge and McHale. If this is true then I definitely don't want Carter. he is on the tail end of his career and he averages a very quite 20 plus points.

Not sure what the Nets were thinking when they signed him to that long term deal. He did the same thing in Toronto, had a big contract year, got the contract, then played like shit and cried about not wanting to be there anymore.

Co-Sign. Miami is better letting the contracts expire and going after a quality free agent or resigning Marion rather than getting Curry, a dude making way too much money for his skills and that has heart problems, both figuratively and literally.

As long as Zeke doesn't resign Jason Williams and Ricky Davis at the end of the yea to long term deals, I'm all for this.

Riley has a thing for big men (no homo) which is why he has an interest in Curry. If the Heat smarten up and resign Marion, they won't be that bad next year.

Trading Vince to the Knicks give them a big time name (about 3 years too late) but it creates a logjam at SF/SG.

Some of these GMs are stupid though. Last summer, who the fuck told Rod Thorn to sign Vince Carter for all that money. Now he's having a hard time trading him? Really, you dumb fuck.
