Khan: I Would 100% Consider Fighting Peterson Again

AMIR KHAN has shrugged off fears of burnout – *despite his marathon training camp.

The Bolton light-welterweight has been in training since February and faces American Danny Garcia on July 14 with the WBC and WBA world titles at stake.

He took a brief break after his rematch with Lamont Peterson was scrapped at short notice in May when the American failed a drugs test.

But Khan is confident new conditioning coach Ruben Tabares will get him into perfect shape to face Garcia after his longest-ever training camp.

Khan’s promoters Golden Boy claim they have had verbal confirmation from the WBA that Peterson has been stripped of their world title and the belt will now be up for grabs in Las Vegas.

Khan said: “I’m glad both titles will be on the line. It makes our fight even bigger and exciting.

“I started training for the Peterson fight at the end of February, so it will be a long camp come fight night against Garcia.

“I’ve had an 18 or 19 week training camp, by the time of the fight, but there’s no chance of burnout.

“We do everything right. We have balanced the training quite well and not gone too hard and nor will it be too easy.

“I always have an intense training camp, but it’s a bit different this time because I’ve changed conditioning coach to Ruben Tabares.

“Ruben has worked with David Haye and he is making me work harder. It’s been a new challenge, this training camp, which has kept me fresh.”

If victorious against unbeaten Garcia, Khan will consider a rematch with Peterson – as long as the American is not banned.

He added: “Things happen for a reason and it’s good to know Lamont Peterson was on something in our first fight and then got caught and now admits it.

“But I would, 100%, consider fighting him again. Even when it got called off I wanted to fight him, but then he started to lie and I thought, ‘I don’t have to give this guy a chance’.

“Maybe we could fight again if he is not banned for life, and I hope he does get a ban of some sort.

“I would love to set the record straight against him, after he took away my titles, but I will take one fight at a time and leave it to my promoter to sort out.”

:lol::lol::lol:

This might end up being the only fight he has left after getting kayoed by Garcia....

Man does this dude get caught with haymakers WAY too often? :smh:

Dude got speed but can't get away from a punch to save his life

Khan stock has officially dropped :smh:...Money won't be checking for him for any possible fights now...back to the drawing board

Re: Khan: I 100% "HAVE" Fighting Peterson Again

Nowhere else for him to go right now... :smh:

He'll have to fight Garcia and Peterson again, but his hype is dead right now and even if he did win those fights... I would only give him a chance against Bradley, but then again, even Bradley might ring his bell.

damn just when he was about to start making some real money..

he need to beat someone in the top ten bad..

he has one more major fight left in him, everyone is going to want to watch to see if he is done for real, or if by some chance in hell, he just happend to have had a bad night.

the only thing that could save him is if, garcia goes on to knock folks out to a championship belt..

and he "a mere con" LOL(classic) continues to win all his fights...

other than that.. it aint lookin to rosey right now for him...

I admit I am a Khan hater and laughed at his defeat. Why? Cause he talked so much shit for a fighter who runs so damn much. Seriously. As soon as he gets hit flush, he starts river dancing. Look at his fights..dude falls back and his feet start chopping. He then starts pushing the fighter back and then motioning for the fighter to come back to him (I guess that's his tough guy approach). All else fails he then starts running around the ring. Look at the Peterson fight or the last fight. Its crazy. Manny would kill this cat. Floyd would destroy him. His best bet - get with Richardson.

He then starts pushing the fighter back and then motioning for the fighter to come back to him

I was :smh::smh::smh: @ that shit.. he didnt have his legs back under him yet....he should have been clinching and holding that left arm.... but dude was standing right in range of the left hook and motioning for Garcia to bring it:smh::smh::lol::lol::lol: dude is a straight clown
