A 23-year-old man was killed and his cousin wounded in a brazen daylight shooting in Brooklyn, police said Tuesday.

Keshone Decoteau was the intended target, police believe, though the motive wasn't immediately clear.

Decoteau had no criminal record in New York, but his 36-year-old cousin, John (Numb) Clyne, who was shot in the leg, has arrests for drugs and robbery on his rap sheet. Clyne is in stable condition at Kings County Hospital.

The shooting happened at 5:25 p.m. Monday on Schenectady Ave. in East Flatbush.

"It was a car that sped up right in front of the house, and a man got out and fired three shots," said a woman who lives nearby. "I then heard the sound of burning tires as the car took off."

Decoteau's mother, Mirtle, 62, said her son was a construction worker who was popular with the ladies.

The devastated mom held her son's hand at the hospital, trying to grasp what had happened.

"The nurse told me, 'Mom, he's dead,'" she recalled. "I feel like I want to be dead, too."

The victim, who had a pit bull named Chalice, was on his way with his cousin to see a man who has three other pit bulls. Keshone Decoteau, his mother said, was interested in getting another pit bull or buying a cage for Chalice.

Decoteau's fiancée, Ariesa John, 21, said he was well-liked and funny.

"He just had a great personality," she said.

a construction worker WHO WAS POPULAR WITH THE LADIES - is this how she saw her child? More like popular with the hood rats. Nice legacy to leave behind.
