Kanye has been saying he doesn't read for years now; I wonder why the media has only picked it up now.
He could've kept that to himself.
It's being mentioned because he's opening a school.
I'm taking it as he doesn't read for pleasure, but even if he meant in general, everyone learns and retains information in different ways. If his preference is to learn orally or enjoy stories orally, what is the big deal. Based on the quote, he seemed to be speaking for himself and not saying it was best for everyone.
Either way, Kanye normally speaks without explaining himself well and people run with his comments. That or he wants attention again.
