IBF junior middleweight champion Cornelius "K9" Bundrage advised BoxingScene.com that his managerial contract with Manny Steward has expired and that he is now both a managerial and promotional free agent. His promotional contract with Don King ended earlier this year.

"I don't have any hard feelings or anything like that with my former manager Manny Steward. I kind of feel like how LeBron James felt when he became a free agent. He had a choice where he could stay with Cleveland or go to Miami and he went to Miami and became a world champion. My new manager will have it easy. He doesn't have to make me a champion. I am already a world champion. He just has to get me the big fights. He will be in a good situation," Bundrage explained.

The former Contender series participant said that he plans on being a more active fighter and will return to the ring before the year is over. Inactivity has plagued Bundrage over the past few years. He knocked out Cory Spinks on June 30th in his only appearance in the ring this year. At the top of Bundrage's wish list is Miguel Cotto.

"We haven't had a world champion from the Kronk Gym fight in the city (Detroit) in 27 years. Since Marvin Hagler. I definitely plan on fighting again this year. I look forward to fighting before the end of the year and I want to fight at Joe Louis Arena before the year is out.

"I would love to fight Cotto. He is a free agent just like me so a fight between him and me shouldn't be hard to make. I know he has a date to fight at Madison Square Garden in New York but he can come fight me here for my belt," Bundrage stated.

K9 finished our conversation with a message for prospective managers and promoters.

"I am a champion fighter and I am looking for a champion manager and promoter. They can reach out to me @K9Boxing on Twitter and we can start the conversation there. Stick to BoxingScene baby. The Dog is coming. You ain't seen nothing yet!"
