My ninja...back in their day people didn't just flat out lie with made up bullshit passed off as facts wjen interviewed.The only thing I had a problem with was that I felt Joy Reid kept injecting herself whenever the other chick was speaking.
I personally would've preferred for her to let the other chick spew her nonsense and then for Joy break apart each thing point by point.
I think it's rude & unprofessional when reporters/commentators feel the need to constantly interrupt their own guest to argue their own POV.
I think that lately, reporters are all about their own opinions, attitude and rhetoric and less about getting out the facts in an accurate or mindful fashion.
Clearly, the days of these dudes are LONG gone:

They did it ALL the time.
The difference is that that breed of reporter/commentator would let the guest essentially hang themselves by letting them spew their bullshit and then later they'd call them out on it AFTER the guest finished "lying".
They'd ask questions during the interview & allow the guest time to answer the question before taking them to task and holding the guests' feet to the fire.
They didn't put their journalistic integrity in jeopardy by arguing with their guest or trying to talk over them.
They were professional enough to know that people tuned in because they wanted to hear what the guest had to say 1st and foremost.
This was (in part) what made those dudes so great.
Unlike so many of these new generation of "commentators".
Remember O'Reilly's last "interview" with Barack...?
It was virtually ALL about O'Reilly getting at President Obama, rather than him actually interviewing Obama.
And this is what I'm seeing more & more of these days in the "news media".
Commentators/reporters arguing a political or social POV as opposed to reporting on a story.
And this is what I found distasteful about the Joy Reid interview.

Guests have mastered the art of getting out their misinformation and lies while the journalist respectfully waits to issue a "calling out" afterward that no one would listen to. In the art of youtube clips, you can cut that thoughtful, respectful rebuttal right out.
So yeah, different methods are needed.
