Jonah Hex is one of DC's oldest western characters. You can't really say his comic is any good or bad. It's like Batman or Superman...Depends on who is writing and which arc.

DC had a strong Western comic series in the 50's to 70's but that genre has died and come back from time to time with Jonah Hex being it's flagship.

I would say some of the strongest books of Jonah Hex are from the 70's...everything after that has been water down since they can not get as grizzly without tossing him into Vertigo without TimeWarner saying something to DC.

His origin is strong enough that if they don't deviate too far from it and film it like a strong spaghetti western...it will be a good hit.

Jonah Hex has several versions:

Old Western
Sci-Fi Time Traveler
and
Spirit form

Most ppl prefer the Old Western version.

I didnt know it was an old series, i thought it was a recent vertigo series but this movie looks terrible, i might D/L it if i get board or something.

Some of their western tales are extremely awesome.
