Jon Jones cited for drag racing, 4 other violations
UFC star Jon Jones was cited for drag racing in downtown Albuquerque, New Mexico, on March 24, according to Albuquerque police.

Jones, 28, received five total citations. according to Albuquerque Police Department spokesman Tanner Tixier. Other citations included equipment modifications, issue with a license plate and failure to maintain a traffic lane. Tixier said he believed Jones was alone at the time of the stop and was driving a white Corvette.

Appearing Monday on the "MMA Hour," Jones denied he was drag racing.

"I was literally driving down the street here in Albuquerque, I was just coming back from dinner with my teammates," Jones said. "I freaking pull up to a red light and I had these fans, they like, roll down their window and are trying to get me to roll down my window. I guess I wasn't in the mood to talk so I revved my engine at them. They start clapping and smiling. The light turns green and I start driving away and literally get pulled over, like, I don't know, 10 yards. I get pulled over in a 35 mph zone."

Jones said his exchange with the officer became "heated" after he found out he was being cited for drag racing. Jones was also pulled over and cited in February for driving without a license, registration or proof of insurance. Jones received a 90-day deferred sentence for those citations in a court appearance on March 23.

Originally from New York, Jones is currently under supervised probation as part of a plea agreement he entered into in September. The agreement stemmed from a felony charge of leaving the scene of a crash last April. It is not yet known how the March 24 citations might affect Jones' probation.

Jones (21-1) is scheduled to challenge current UFC light heavyweight championDaniel Cormier at UFC 197 on April 23 in Las Vegas. Jones is the former 205-pound champion and already has one win over Cormier.

The UFC released a statement Monday afternoon regarding Jones.

"We are aware of the situation and are looking into the matter," the UFC said. "We've also been in touch with Jon's team regarding the matter."

Following his arrest last year, Jones became the first UFC champion in history to be stripped of his title due to disciplinary reasons.

At a UFC news conference earlier this month, Jones claimed he was sober for the first time in his athletic career. In May 2012, Jones was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence in New York. He eventually pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor DWI.

On face value... sounds like utter bullshit. Trumped up bullshit.

Clearly, this cop was just being a petty ass bitch. "Cut the attitude!" The fuck??? Without the bodycam, I would have thought Jones was on that bullshit again, but that officer was a fuckin douche bag and I think he's lying.
Yeah, I would have thought so too. That cop even admitted Jon was within the speed limit. The sad shit is the pig behaves this way WITH a fucking body cam. My blood was boiling just watching that bullshit.

And it's 2016. Why do people need to carry registration when the fucking plates on the vehicle will indicate whether or not the plate is fucking valid? It's like they keep that law on the books just to fuck with people. Damn I hate pigs. Where are all the 'good' cops to come out and condemn this pig's behavior?

I took my registration out my vehicle because I've had cops tell me they only thing that need to see is a license, everything else comes up when they pull the tag.

Last time I got pulled over the cop even told me that there was no need for me to reach for my insurance because he knew it was valid before he got out the car.

That is absolute bullshit but let me tell you something, that's how they get down in Albuquerque. They're real anal about traffic shit in the city. And modded cars cause them mexicans got all them civics sounding like F-22s.

Exactly. They got those plate scanners that can go through 1000s of plates, but all of a sudden not having your paper registration is a big deal. They just want to give people that $100 failing to show document ticket EVEN with a valid registration. Pigs and the system ain't shit man. I keep mine in the car. Never know when a pig wants to go by the book.

After watching that vid, wtf did Jones do that was wrong. That cop was on straight bullshit, talking to him all disrespectful. Fuck dat pig!

Oh ok good looking, I'm thinking he knew. The pigs whole vibe, was indicative of that.....
Indeed.

Cac gave him a drag racing ticket then admitted he didn't actually race nor did the other car . :smh:

Asked him why his car was so loud well after it was turned off them gave him a vehicle modification ticket. :smh:

fuck new mexico and especially Albuquerque police... I've witnessed first hand their fuckery...

Sometimes you gotta leave shit towns man. He is spending way too much money in taxes in that shit hole state, catching bullshit cases like this

One day after revealing he was cited for multiple traffic violations, UFC superstar Jon Jones was arrested Tuesday for violating his probation.

According to TMZ Sports, Jones turned himself in to New Mexico police after a judge issued an arrest warrant for drag racing last week.

ESPN's Brett Okamoto confirmed TMZ's report, noting Jones was booked Tuesday morning by probation officers in Albuquerque.

The UFC released a statement on Tuesday:

UFC is aware that Jon Jones turned himself into the Albuquerque Police Department this morning for a potential probation violation stemming from a traffic stop last week.

UFC has been in touch with Jones' legal team and will have no further comment until the organization has had appropriate time to gather necessary information.

During an appearance on The MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani of MMAFighting.com, Jones said he was pulled over by police several days ago, cited for drag racing and issued five separate tickets (via Jeremy Botter of FloSports).

Jones told Helwani he's "going to fight it" regarding the tickets (via Eric Jackman of The MMA Hour). The former light heavyweight champion added he "said things to the officer he now regrets," per Luke Thomas ofMMAFighting.com.

This is just the latest in a string of legal problems for Jones, who has not fought for the UFC since defeating Daniel Cormier at UFC 182 in January 2015. He was involved in a hit-and-run incident in Albuquerque last year and sentenced to 18 months of probation after pleading guilty.

Jones also failed a pre-fight drug test prior to his bout with Cormier after testing positive for cocaine and entered rehab. He was indefinitely suspended by the UFC, a punishment that lasted six months before he was officially reinstated last October.

The 28-year-old Jones is currently scheduled to make his UFC return at UFC 197 on April 23 in a rematch against Cormier, though it's unclear if his latest arrest will alter plans.

If he wasn't speeding he can probably beat the racing charge.
He can definitely beat the loud car shit. Did the officer use a device that measures decibels?
A good lawyer can beat that.

I know he did some bullshit in the past but if anyone watches that video they know Jones didn't do anything wrong.

Why is your car so loud?

Cut the attitude?

He changed his attitude later

If he was racing, where is the reckless driving or speeding? He acted like he was being nice by giving him five tickets and not reckless driving?

I got hit and I had paid my registration renewal but forgot to put it in my car, so I had the expired one in the car. The cop was like no problem man we see all that and you're good. At first I was worried I was going to get a ticket in addition to getting hit.

And when I was younger I let my insurance lapse for a couple of days being late paying and got a letter quick as shit from the DMV making sure I had proof.
