John Gotti & the Ki77er who beat him in prison

John Gotti in Federal prison after getting beat up. They guy who did it was named Walter O. Johnson who was in his early 30’s at the time and was bank robber out of Philadelphia and was not a part of the “DC Blacks” as some internet gossip says. The Dapper Don was taken by surprise, aka sucker punched and wasn’t able to fight back, but he didn’t tell the guards what happened.. He just said he “fell” or whatever nonsense excuse. Why did Johnson hit Gotti? Seems like a run of the mill prison argument, and, of course, beating up America’s most famous gangster was probably quite an ego boost for an inmate buried at Marion. The way the Johnson’s attack on Gotti came to public attention was actually from the 2002 Aryan Brotherhood Federal indictment where it was mentioned that Gotti tried to hire, or did hire, but they didn’t follow through, the AB to kill Walter O Johnson. Some say the AB was paid and they just kept they money… but while I was researching the Family Affiliated Irish Mafia up in California’s east bay Contra Costa county area, I came across info from the 2020 California AB indictment where Federal prosecutors allege that alleged California AB ringleader Ronnie “Renegade” Yandell was set to attack Walter Johnson in 1999, three years after the attack on Gotti, but 3 years before gotti died of cancer in ‘02 at age 61.
