Yeah but at this point, boxing is universal so that really doesn't apply here. When Frank Bruno, Henry Akinwande were in trouble, it got a lot of press in the sports world stateside. Damn sure a double standard, and Dude is ADMITTING he is a cocaine user!!! People always talking about how Tyson ruined his legacy, and how Holyfield, Bowe ruined their's, but I'll bet this Dude strolls untouched into the Hall of Fame....bullshit!!!!

no... There has always been a subliminal divide on race in America media because there is a greater divine in the American public and the media tries to act objective. For example, the way the term "All-American" is used.

In other countries the divisions are made less apparent because there isn't much of a "melting pot" culture in other countries.

Tyson got a rape charge and the press had a field day. Ben Roethlisberger got a couple of bitches saying the same thing and the media seems very quiet.

Even the black chick that said she got by that lacrosse team of white cats in NC a few years back. I never heard some many "alleged" shit in my life and it was the first time I have ever heard the media say "alleged rape victim".

I don't think there's any double standard. It's not on the front page of ESPN because Calzaghe is European and is not very big in the United States. If you want to make a fair comparison and prove a double standard, compare Calzaghe to some black European fighters that were into drugs and other shameful stuff. Were the black European fighters plastered all over ESPN? Where's the double standard?

If you want to be realistic about it, just look at white American Tommy Morrison. That guy has had his shit plastered all over the press for the longest time. However, Eric Morel participates in a gangbang with an underage girl, goes to jail, and it barely makes the news. There's a lot of stuff done by minority fighters that gets virtually swept under the rug. Tim Austin is another one. You guys probably didn't even remember him. Another highly touted guy in a sex scandal who just disappeared. I don't see this double standard you guys are talking about.

Bruno and Akinwande got just as much press as Calzaghe did, in other words minimal press in all cases. Nobody in the U.S gives a fuck about Calzaghe, Bruno, and especially not Akinwande.
