Jamaican Olympic athletes show the shitty conditions of their rooms

Da fuck didn't they finish that shit yet.

When the Aussies got to their rooms they had some similar problems but who cares about them

One of the Czech cyclist recorded 'enormous water leak' down a stairwell inside
their Olympic village building. Czech road cyclist Zdenek Styba said
"Great we have new shower in the house"

Meanwhile the Rio mayor said everything has been fixed in Olympic village.
:hmm:

russia was a shit hole as well. the committee that pick these spots should be held accountable for this shit. did they investigate to make sure the athletes's living quarters were up to par

They give the countries about 8-12 years to get ready. It's not entirely their fault but they should do a better job at screening who has the capacity to deliver on their promise.

I wonder if its just the melanin rich athletes aka "black" athletes

are the germans and swedes complaining about their rooms....???

brazil could be on that bullshit, with all them ex nazis there spreading their mental disease all over brazil...
Depends on the country's budget. Kevin Durante and the another ballers aren't even staying at a hotel, they have a luxury cruise ship where they will all be staying

uuum.. these Olympics were awarded to Brazil in 2009

Seven years.

Brazil made the mistake of not hiring enough contractors very early on as a result of corruption and greed. A lot of what we are seeing now could have been avoided. This is what happens when backdoor deals are made and competing contractors are not given a chance to compete. I'm not saying there would not be any issues, it just would not be as bad as what we are seeing now.

Boston was the leading city for the 2024 olympics but beacuse of lack of financial disclosure and contractual obligations on part of the mayoral office, citizens totally opposed it. The amount of preliminary construction that has spurred is like no other I have seen in my time even though we were not given the bid. Big money at play with these games.

This is bad, everything about this is bad. Zika, the water, safety and living conditions.

They won the bid 10 years ago in 2006, it's ridiculous that they aren't even finished shit.

Would u train ur whole life for a sport just to pack up and go home cause ur hotel room looks like shit?

Those are the ones I feel bad for. The bigtime athletes shouldve gave them 2 fingers. But I honestly dont know what everyone else shouldve done. Like you said, you train your ass off, and get to the point where everything youve been working for is right there, and you only realistically have 2 times to show what you got. Some 3, but most??? You better kickass, cause in 6 months no one will remember you. Shit will be like Rocky 2 when they come home. A few commercials, and back to the grind.

U think a dirty hotel room is going to stop anyone. Swimmers half to wash off with bleach, Zika, body parts in water, civil unrest, etc.

Fuck them. Who the fuck do they think they are? Like they should be up in some 5 star hotel because they are an Olympic athlete that nobody fucking knows.

man fuck that. We would have to just find a hotel if possible that is disgusting and literally sabotage. This is how they treat people of African descent in the so called multi cultural melting shit hole called Brazil

^^ This.

That whole "Operation Car Wash" Corruption scandal ran DEEEEEP.

For those who do not know the story :dunno:..... Basically Brazil got awarded the Olympics back in 2009.... then the Government set aside SEVERAL BILLION DOLLARS to build all kinds of shit to improve transportation, upgrade the train system, build new arenas & venues for the events, re-pave the streets to improve the flow of traffic to the arenas & other landmark destinations, build more hotels to house all the athletes, their families, worldwide press & forthcoming visitors... hell even DONALD TRUMP was trying to build some hotels in Rio, for the athletes.

There were like 6 or 7 major construction companies in Brazil who all began BRIBING the shit outta the politicians to get 'exclusive contracts' for various portions of the Olympic Development Upgrade plans.

They sent money in a suitcase to someone's office... and the very next day... whaddya know... their company got permits to rebuild a portion of the highway, or some shit.

With all these (pre-approved) construction 'permits' in hand.... these companies could now GET PAID (upfront) by the Brazilian government.... from the Olympic Fund. :smh:

Fast forward 7 years later... as the Olympic Torch is running through the streets of Brazil... those companies all spent up that Olympic money... but barely built (or finished) anything. :smh:

And now the athletes arrive and share their stories / photos on the internet. :smh:

Meanwhile, over the last year or so, when they realized alot of this shit was not gonna be finished in time..... Brazilian Authorities swooped across the city and arrested HUNDREDS of government officials & construction company executives.... who are still sitting in jail today.. awaiting trial.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Car_Wash

Operation Car Wash (Portuguese: Operação Lava Jato) is an investigation being carried out by the Federal Police of Brazil, Curitiba Branch, and judicially commanded by Judge Sérgio Moro since March 17, 2014. Initially a money laundering investigation, it has expanded to cover allegations of corruption at the state-controlled oil company Petrobras, where it is alleged that executives accepted bribes in return for awarding contracts to construction firms at inflated prices.

This criminal "system" is known as "Petrolão - Operation Car Wash".[4] The operation has included the enforcement of more than a hundred warrants for search and seizure, temporary and preventive detention and coercive measures, with the aim of ascertaining a money laundering scheme suspected of moving more than 10 billion Brazilian reals (approx. USD 2.8 billion)

Number of Arrested Persons: 160
Number of Indicted Persons: 179
Number of Convicted Persons: 93
Number of Companies Involved: 16
Number of Investigated Persons: 232
Reimbursement Requested: $14.5 billion in Brazil Réal (approximately 3.6 billion USD)
Amount of Misappropriated Funds: $2.1 billion in Brazil Réal (approximately 500 million USD)

.... and counting.

I just don't get how they can pull off a World Cup and 2 years later not have basic accommodations ready for athletes. That's beyond inept. It must have been some straight extortion going on and didn't get paid to the right people.
