Damn. Seems the Knuckle draggers in the Knucks front office (ie Charles Dullard & Glen Groundhog) got it wrong again. How in the fuck do you not know that the guy you just signed to a 4 year 25 mil sheet has a fucked up knee? Not only is the knee fucked, it's degenerative. Can't believe these guys. Now the Knucks need a guard to replace this mofo. :smh:

J.R. Smith out up to four months for Knicks after undergoing surgery on left knee

The announcement comes just five days after Smith, the reigning Sixth Man of the Year, signed a four-year contract extension and raises the question of why the Knicks would re-sign Smith to just a lucrative contract if he was not healthy.

LAS VEGAS — The Knicks suffered a devastating blow on Monday when the club announced that J.R. Smith could miss four months after having patellar tendon surgery and an arthroscopy for a tear in the lateral meniscus of his left knee.

The announcement comes just five days after Smith, the reigning Sixth Man of the Year, signed a four-year contract extension that could be worth as much as $24 million and raises the question of why the Knicks would re-sign Smith to such a lucrative deal if he was not healthy.

The Knicks said the recovery time is approximately 12-to-16 weeks, which could put Smith in position to be available on opening night, but that seems unlikely since he won’t be practicing much in September and October.

Smith’s surgery came on the same day that the club signed small forward Metta World Peace. The Knicks will still have to add a guard and would prefer to sign Nate Robinson, but Robinson believes he can get more than the veteran’s minimum, which is all the Knicks can offer.

Injuries undermined the Knicks last season. Only the Minnesota Timberwolves lost more player games than the Knicks. Amar’e Stoudemire had two knee surgeries last season while Carmelo Anthony ended the season with a partially torn left shoulder. As of now, Anthony won’t need surgery but his condition is a major concern.

damn, maybe they just didn't want to lose him, i think they had to do their homework on his knee before signing him :smh:

It's why he didn't sign with anyone else. First thing he'd have to do is take a physical. Team dr would've spotted that shit and kicked his ass out the door. I can't believe the Knucks are that dumb.

Wait a minute...Amare Stoudemire...yeah, I can believe it :smh:
