I looked at the news this morning and the first thing that slaps me in the face - Barry Bonds Indicted. Then as I'm listening to the charges, I look over at my 7-year old son's face, and I wonder how this effects him. What I mean is, isn't the future of our kids what all of this stuff is about? Life, spirituality, morality, work, honor, love... it's all about making things right for the little ones. It's about doing the best you can for yourself, so you can give your loved ones, (whether it's your girl, your kids, or your blood), the best you have to offer. So I think, how in the hell is Barry Bonds being indicted make a bit of fucking difference in making things better for ANYBODY'S son or daughter?
Is this the most important thing our government can think to do with the billions of tax dollars they strong-arm from our pockets every single day of our lives. And, before you get started on Barry Bonds; whether you believe he used steriods, or not, is irrelevant. This doesn't have shit to do with him, either way.
The point here is, I could give a shit. Whether he did it, or not, indicting him won't make a difference in anything, except take time, money, and resources away from the REAL problems.
Think about this shit.
Imagine being a mother or father who had your 3-year old daughter raped and killed... and the killer was never found becuase the police have given up searching - due to limited resources. Imagine how it would feel listening to this shit.
Imagine being a 13-year old boy, running the streets because no shelters have the resources to house, feed, or educate you. Imagine how it would feel listening to this shit.
Imagine being a soldier in Iraq with 5 hollowpoints ripping through your chest, right at this very moment-slicing your body to pieces like a hot knife melting through butter-all because our government told you we didn't have enough money to get you the best body armor. Imagine how it would feel knowing our money was spent on Barry Bonds before we spent it to protect your chest - a chest that now lies lifeless in some desert, in who fucking knows where.
The point I'm trying to make is, things have gotten so fucked up that maybe... maybe it's just time for us to go. Maybe it's time for God to just call it a day, because we just can't seem to respect the glory of what He's given us... life.
Love and Honor, ya'll
