He may not be in control of private insurance companies, but if he puts in place requirements, that they have to offer, then that will effect my price. For example, in my policy why would I need maternity leave, but it's mandated in all of the new policies, so my private insurance company will be say hey it's required to have this in your coverage, so add 50 more bucks to your policy. So they don't (private insurance companies) actually make all of the decisions. There are mandates that they NOW have to follow.
So me personally I am paying more, and thankfully I didnt lose my doctor, but I know quite a few people personally that are paying more and they did lose there doctor.
Your living in a dream world if you think that it's just that easy to go get another policy just like the one you had, and less. You know yourself that doesn't even sound right. Hell even if I wanted to go on the the exchange I still can't get coverage, because the fucking web site don't work
