July 16, 2007 - At today's Television Critics Association event, new NBC Co-Chairman Ben Silverman announced that the former star of Grey's Anatomy, Isaiah Washington, will be joining the cast of new show Bionic Woman for "five to six episodes." It is a character that was tailored for Washington.
When asked about the recent controversy surrounding Washington, Silverman said, "He's a wonderful actor and a great performer, and he became available." Silverman clarified that NBC was already talking to Washington before he was let go from Grey's. Silverman also said that he "Didn't quite understand what happened there" in regards to why Washington was ultimately fired from Grey's Anatomy. Mostly skirting the issue of whether NBC is worried that hiring Washington could alienate part of the audience, Silverman emphasized that they are "excited to see his portrayal of this character."
In addition to his Bionic Woman story arc, Washington also has an action series in development with NBC, which is based on an idea the actor himself came up with.

-Hiring him brought some added pub to the new program addition.
-America has a short memory and is overall forgiving. (As mentioned Imus got another radio gig, Marv Albert outlived his freak-a-zoid incident a few years back).
-Is there such a thing as permanent toxicity? Most of the wierd and idiotic people are quickly given another chance with the help of a good publicist. Rosie courted by MSNBC after The View, Ricky Williams seen as exactly what the Miami Dolphins need right now, Britney Spears record company, etc.

i disagree what he did and what imus did are two totally different things..
