WBA/WBO lightweight champion Juan Manuel Marquez took a few shots at his former Golden Boy Promotions stablemate "Sugar" Shane Mosley, who recently left the Los Angeles-based promotional company to pursue a fight with Manny Pacquiao on May 7 in Las Vegas. Mosley, Marquez, along with unbeaten WBC welterweight champion Andre Berto - are the three names under consideration to face Pacquiao on the May date.

Marquez is doing everything possible to get a third bout with Pacquiao. Mosley is the frontrunner to land the opportunity. If Marquez can't secure the third fight, he doesn't feel Msoley is a deserving party. He says Berto deserves the shot more.

"I think the best option would be for him to face Berto. Mosley is on the decline, he has not looked good in his last two fights," Marquez was quoted by scribe Ricardo Lois. The boxer made the comments during his weekly appearance on ESPN Deportes' Golpe a Golpe program.

But, that doesn't mean Marquez thinks Berto will do any better.

"Berto's style of boxing is a bit mechanical, slow, and orthodox. Berto would have a difficult time with Pacquiao's speed," Marquez said.

I think Berto is a better choice. But if BHOP can pull an amazing performance at his age so can Shane. But I highly doubt it. I think I can for a better opinion when BGOL's Boxing circle jerk crew chime in with their input.:lol::lol: Slightly kidding.
