is it me. but can this white girl sing?

No :hmm:
Nobody wanna see this shit here. Why do you insist on posting this crap?

because I can....

So you're telling me that she doesn't have an unique voice?

you asked can she sing. no and no her voice does not sound unique. just a regular white bitch singing a shitty song. the music is straight garbage. how can anyone even listen to that shit? :puke:

Of course, she can. Hayley Williams (of Paramore) is a rising star. I think the group has a darker, more goth song (think Amy Lee and Evanescence) in the upcoming blockbuster vampire flick Twilight.

So much hostility and anger, and we are not even in the middle of the month yet.

Early PMsing must be a bitch.

i dont see Amy Lee in her at all. She more reminds me somewhat of Avril Lavigne....:dunno: she's not bad though.

AAA, you infatuated or some shit. LOL.
She's okay, but the voice is just average, to me.

On the other hand, maybe its the song.
Have her record some Aretha Franklin, and hit me back.

Isn't one Aretha Franklin enough for you?

If you're referring to her weight, thats not nice; don't do that.

If you're referring to her voice, hell no: The world could never
get enough soul, and who better to provide it than, the Queen
of Soul and more soulful voices like hers ???

R-E-S-P-E-C-T . . .

You want singers to just mimic her? Everyone to sound the same? No, thanks.

(Shit, Aretha didn't even become ARETHA until she signed with Atlantic, some 8 years into her career.)

Blunt, WTF does her signing with Atlantic, at whatever point, have to do with how Aretha sounds ???

Her career took off after signing with Atlantic, but the voice was there, ab initio. As you will note, my emphasis was and is, on her voice and style. It was her voice (and mixing her early Church and blues background into the presentation) that made her the Q of S. This is not one of those chicken & egg which came first arguments. The voice/style brought the hits, though Atlantic provided better songs and exposure.

Now, I won't pretend to be the "Expert" on Entertainment & Hollywould if Hollycould, like yourself, but I do know Soul enough to know that Aretha's influence and sound survives in many female artists, present day. They don't sound "exactly" like Aretha, and very few successful artist try to sound, exactly like another. Nevertheless, us Soul Brothers know and appreciate when we hear the influence of Soulsters from the past.

So, like I said above, mo of it is good and the mo the betta. Fuck what the experts say.

The Twilight soundtrack (which features Paramore's "Decode" as its first single) just debuted at #1.
